Ha HA!

I suppose that they want a "balanced math curriculum" for those who think 2+2=5, and a "balanced language curriculum" for those who think "he ain't" is a satisfactorysubstitute for "he is not."

The motion would probably be illegal, since it called for the district to tell parents that a "growing minority" of scientists don't think evolutionary theory is correct. In fact, it's a shrinking minority.

I would have agreed if they had wanted to had teachers discuss alternative, popular beliefs regarding the history of the universe or difficulties in ToE, but the proposed idea was silly and doomed.

As you've noted before, all sciences have problems remaining to be solved. Any science that has nothing left to clear up is dead. It becomes mere technology.

But fortunately, the universe in which we live is at once remarkably understandable, and hopelessly complex.

BTW, I like to toss in some problems in evolution for my kids. Unfortunately, most of the problems are higher-level ones, that aren't very accessible to them. One I like to give is "why are there no marsupial whales or seals?

Another one (but it's not really a problem because I know the answer) is "why do we see analogous structures on whales, fish, icthyosaurs, and mososaurs?

And like I've said before, Barb, you sound like an excellent teacher! :biggrin
