Which scripture do you live in, Philippians 1:21 or Philippians 2:21?

Philippians 1:21 KJV says, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." (For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better - NLT).

Philippians 2:21 NIV says, "For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ."

If you were accused of being a Christian where you work, would there be enough evidence to convict you? Or would you be found innocent of all charges? II Corinthians 5:18-20 says that every Christian has been given the Ministry of Reconciliation as Ambassadors for Christ, empowered to deliver a message as though Jesus were performing the task.

Which scripture do you live in, Philippians 1:21 or Philippians 2:21? Are you living for Christ or are you living for self?

Which scripture one lives in is irrelevent.
None of us are perfect so we oscilate between living for Jesus and living for self.

As to whether there is evidence at work/home or in society that one is a Christian is always a relevent challenge.

Jesus said theses words in Matthew 15:8, "These people draw near unto Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me."

I agree none of us are perfect, but yet Philippians 1:21 is very relevant if we are living for Christ as we die to self daily.

Are you saying then that you (not directed at you, but all of us) only let your light shine when you feel like being a Christian and other times you hide your light under a bush as you deliberately want to sin?

Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

interesting responce to honesty.
Hostility rather than love.

How about some honesty in return, and tell us how you really live day by day.
Do you love the Lord your God with every part of you for every moment of the day and night?
Can you tell us how you do this?

I am sure you have heard about giving lip service to the Lord, but truly they have not Christ in them as they serve self just like the Pharisees that Jesus condemned.
