Yes, so we see there are many antichrist's, as well as the Antichrist who is to come....
1 John 2:18

...which is s reference to a singular individual that Paul refers to as; the man of sin, the son of perdition and the lawless one. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4,8

Clearly Satan. The only other reference to the son of perdition is in connection with Judas, in whom Satan entered. And since we know Judas ain't coming back to human flesh, the only remaining party to observe for "the son of perdition" is Satan.

Paul also pinpoints Satan in 2 Thes. 2:9, again.

I have zero issues with Satan being the spirit of the anti-Christ because Satan is against Christ. Same with any devil of his family, are anti-Christ spirits. No sense prodding around in the dark looking for other wicked spirits as anti-Christs when we have plenty of disclosures of Satan and his messengers as wicked spirits against Christ shown by scriptures, abundantly.

Daniel calls him the prince who is to come. Daniel 9:2

JLB

Daniel 9 says the people of the prince. We know there is a world full of people under the influences of Satan, called unbelievers.

Satan is also termed a prince, Eph. 2:2. Jesus also addresses the prince of this world, which would be Satan.

At some point you may see there is an entire narrative of spirits that abide in mankind that are addressed in various ways in the scriptures. It's NOT an account of only mankind. It's an account of mankind in which Satan and his minions have their hold also, in the flesh. That's why it's pointless to expect any individual man to be Satan or the anti-Christ because Satan is that anti-Christ.

The antichrist is human.

He operates after the working of satan. The man of sin, the son of perdition, who is also called the lawless one, will be revealed, when he goes to the Temple and claims to be God, that is to say, the Messiah.

The lawless one, the son of perdition, the man of sin, is a man.

This lawless one will be destroyed by the brightness of the coming of the Lord. 2 Thessalonians 2:8

Then later satan will be bound for a 1000 years.

Lawless one - destroyed by the brightness of His coming.

Satan - bound for a 1000 years.
Revelation 20:2

Lawless one is not Satan.

To bad we won't be here to find out who it was. :)

I'll let you know now, in case you fall asleep before the Lord comes.

Remember the Gathering, which included the resurrection and rapture together come after the man of sin is revealed.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 1 John 2:18

...and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, 1 John 2:18

Yes, so we see there are many antichrist's, as well as the Antichrist who is to come....
1 John 2:18

Why do you keep adding the definite article "THE" to the texts. In many translation that definite article is not present, and it appears that the whole basis for your theology is solely based on the use of this definite article "The."

There is AC and there is JC. Dont worry about AC or even think about it. Its a deception. Clear your mind and focus on JC.

Jesus and the Apostles told you. They had to explain it so you would not be deceived. So once you know the truth thru them, you dont need think about it anymore.

Walk in the spirit of light.

If you had read my post's on this subject, you would know that I quoted scriptures from Paul and Daniel about this man of sin.

18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 1 John 2:18 NKJV

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1 John 2:18 KJV

Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.
1 John 2:18 NASB

18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.
1 John 2:18 NIV

18 Little youths, it is the last hour; and even as ye heard that the antichrist doth come, even now antichrists have become many -- whence we know that it is the last hour; 1 John 2:18 YLT

Here are a few of the most recognized versions to compare.

I find in all of them, that the first rendering of antichrist in this verse is singular and is contrasted by the plural second rendering, meaning there are many antichrist's in the world but there is one singular antichrist to come.

Whether a definite article before antichrist or not, there is no mistaking the singular antichrist, as contrasted by many antichrist's.

Do you know of a version that has both references to antichrist, in verse 18 of 1 John chapter 2, as rendered as plural?

Have you built your whole theology, in the hope that there won't be an antichrist, or the mark of the beast or a great tribulation... Based on a definite article or not before the singular word antichrist, in 1 John 2:18? :shrug

Lucifer is termed "a man" in the scriptures. The term "man" has also been applied to angels, both good and evil. Trying to see only "flesh humans" isn't a credible approach for any theology studies.

We also know that the anti-Christ is a spirit. Why people would look to "a flesh man, singular" is a waste of time. Satan entered Judas. Satan also spoke from Peter's lips. Which flesh man would you care to observe as the "wicked spirit" of Satan?

1 John 4:3
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Have you built your whole theology, in the hope that there won't be an antichrist,

A flesh man as a spirit will never compute in theology. I understand that a lot of believers have been misled by dime store end time novels though, thinking they are accurate theology positions.

They're not.

Reading what the scriptures actually say, along with the surrounding context as well as what other scriptures say about this subject is the only credible approach to rightly diving the word of truth, so as to be considered as a workman that need not be ashamed...

The antichrist is human.

Humans are not "spirits" they are flesh.

Lawless one is not Satan.
JLB

If every sin is of the devil, which it is per 1 John 3:8 I don't know how one could avoid the conclusion that the devil IS the lawless one, and is "thee" wicked anti-Christ spirit.

I might even observe that with such blatant and exposed scriptural evidence, that if people can't see it, they may in fact be under the influences, and blind to this "blinder" of the minds of all mankind and the internal provocateur of every sin of lawlessness.

If every sin is of the devil, which it is per 1 John 3:8 I don't know how one could avoid the conclusion that the devil IS the lawless one, and is "thee" wicked anti-Christ spirit

By this analogy, we would have to assume that every human being was in fact Satan himself.

Yes my point exactly.
JLB

The whole world has been held captive in the flesh, by our mutual adversary, the devil, from day 1 of mankind. That adversary is Satan, and is the anti-Christ spirit that inhabits the flesh and minds of all who sin.

Satan, the great dragon, that old serpent, the devil, the behemoth, resides in the sea of humanity.

The anti-Christ spirit resides in the collective, and not a sole individual. These, with one mind, the mind of the adversary within them, have always moved as the serpent directs to slither in the sea of blinded flesh.

Good debate going.
I'll side with JLB on this one.:agreed

Then you might be reminded:

Titus 3:2
To speak evil of no man,

When you see the supposed man, anti-Christ. Don't hold your breath. The end will come without any particular 'man' being shown as such. And many will be caught, flat footed.

The antichrst, or man of sin is a man... And the number of his name is 666, for it is the number of a man.
Revelation 13:18

He will be revealed to the world, and be seen and he will deceive with miracles and lying wonders after the working of Satan. This man will be destroyed by the brightness of the coming of the Lord.

Satan himself will not be destroyed, but be bound for a thousand years...

7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth...
Revelation 20:7-8

Satan was not destroyed by the brightness of His coming, but rather bound, and released after a 1000 years.

The destruction of Satan, showed by Paul, is also shown by Jesus in Matt. 25, as to the way, the devil and his messengers being first, divided out of or away from the captives. This is the elimination of "his hold" and "holding powers." The order of his destruction is revealing, division, binding and destruction. The Rev. reference is the final destruction, after the first three are completed

The lawless one is, who is called the man of sin, the son of perdition.
This man is human, and is destroyed.

Is Satan destroyed by the brightness of His Coming?

No.

Satan is bound for 1000 years, and released for a short time. Revelation 20:2

The false messiah does signs and lying wonders after the working of Satan.

8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 2 Thessalonians 2:8-9

He is not Satan but is empowered by Satan.

JLB

Which scripture says he is human?

Maybe not human but works through a human. Like when satan entered judas. He walked in human feet. I guess its the same as being demon possesed.

The spirit of God walked and talked in Jesus and the spirit of satan walked and talked in judas.
