When I'm presented with a Christians point of view about yahway, it really becomes about theirway. Theirway is the only way yahway can exist in their minds, and I must believe theirway or yahway will get mad.

But if I say, no! I want to live myway, they laugh and say

"There's a lot of people in hell who did it theirway"

Which is really just your way I say.

Have you ever tried that with a policeman.
Said,' I want to drive at my speed, I don't care about your speed limit.'
What reaction would you get.
Why do you baulk at the idea that God has given rules for behaviour?

this may sound....odd, to unbelievers....but there is the concept (which I think is valid) of "Christian liberty." its like this...

especially as new testament believers, there's a surprising amount of freedom in God's rules for humanity. I also firmly believe that God blesses His people, those who love Him and grow to obey Him...

so, there's that, too. not that becoming a Christian=massive blessings, all the time, but...He is Good, and He is merciful to those who humble themsleves before Him.

there's also the old narrow way vs The World (broad road) comparison, here. Especially now, in the 21st century, society -claims- to value individuality, choosing one's own path, etc. its a big, big, big lie...of course...the world rewards conformity to their rules, "knowing one's place," etc. the more affluent classes get more leeway, but...even there, resources and clout can only buy so much freedom in today's increasingly conformist, un-free world.

to be fair to unbelievers, following Christ is -not- without loss, on the individual's part. Luke 14:28 applies, most definitely. :)

Which God? YourGod or MyGod. YourGod could tell me the speed limit is only 40, but myGod might tell me the speed limit is only 50.

The real reason it's wrong to drive over the speed limit is due to scientific research. Imagine the cop was enforcing a law on motorists to obey a speed limit based entirely on his belief that 50 is just to fast.

In that case you should not be wasting your time (or ours) on this forum. There are a lot of other places where your point of view will be welcomed.
There is the X the Y the Z and Time. Why think in 3 dimensions when you can think in 4

Soooo
You know nothing about what scripture says. (Obviously) and have listened to the various "Christian" or otherwise people that you have come across to form an edumakashun around this subject.

And you are going to gamble your eternal life with this edumakashun.

Might want to rethink this.

So what is MayDay 's way?
I mean the idea that each individual person can create their own version of God and the after life basically means we're all gods. And it totally makes sense when you look at the world and see how innately good the human race is. Who needs redemption from the sinless Son of God when you can just recycle, donate your old clothes to charity and not ever murder anyone to get to heaven?

(this is all sarcasm btw)

Why would we think in any other way then that in whom we know holds all absolutes.

I know why you are here and what your purpose and intent is. I know the god you serve as many of us at one time served the same god. You have admitted you have an evil mind and if an evil mind an evil heart set on the path of the lake of fire as you have already condemned your own self as all of God's judgements are righteous.

You can either stay condemned by the choices you make or you can choice to accept the one that only wants to love you and give you His best. It's up to you. You can believe as you want, but you are in a Christian forum of brothers and sisters that are here to lift up and edify one another.

As you became a member here you agreed to the statement of faith, the Terms of Service and the Community message. If you can not abide to all of that then it might be a good idea to find another forum. We would be glad if you would stay and possibly learn about the God we serve.

Or sunflowersway, which I haven't heard yet.
"Followers of the Way" was the expression and the first name given to those who followed Jesus after His resurrection (Acts 9:2, 22:4, 24:14). Because Jesus taught that He was "the way, the truth, and the life," and that no one comes to God except through Him (John 14:6), this title captures the exclusive truth claims of Jesus and the commitment of those following Him.

MayDay..this is sunflower's way.

And science research consitently demonstraits that Gods laws are best for humanity, so following your desires in life and ignoring Gods laws means you are living life at a poorer level thrn you could.

As your reply shows following a false god only gets one speeding tickets. In reality you lose out in life and earn a deserved punishment.

Not a rational way to live.

When I was younger and made the decision to be a Christian, the decision was made because I found it to be from God. Or at least the bare nuts and bolts of it, the scriptures were from God.

However beyond that I was lost in a simular "whosway" fog as to what MayDay seems to be talking about.

First with the different philosophies within Christian beliefs that weren't yet explored and reasoned which ones could be right and which ones not, and of these some were were conflicting salvation based, others a muddying sets of views that have God in them but are not in the bible ("God helps those who help themselves," for example), these were false and not truely from the bible, but who can know while still new and in the fog, and others were sets of "how-to" behaviors that went from simple to complex. Things like how to pray, how to be saved (if you do it the wrong way what then), how to follow the comands, lessons, and teachings of Jesus.

Second was the people. Conflicting ways to be, some more deticated then others, some kind, others not.

So believe me when I tell you MayDay. I get what you mean when you ask "who's way?" And to make it simpler here was my final conclusion. God's way must be the bible's way. Thus from the fog of Christian perspectives I came out with a type of Occam's razor to cut through it all. If through reading the bible one philosophy contradicted what is said in the bible, then that philosophy was cut from being considered. Everything else would still remain as a possibility until that too can be confirmed or corrected. The bible became the standard for what way was really God's way.

However, there is one more consideration to hold on to. There is the search for God's way, and there is also the way of love. No one is perfect and even less have a perfect understanding. Act to love eachother in our weaknesses and our strengths, and to not place more of a burden on them then is nessassary. Even with correcting our brothers and sisters in faith, to do so for their benifit, not just to be right. That path even if you don't know God's way completely or understand how God can give another a different path of finding and following God, the way of loving another through it all hits on many of the teachings of Jesus so it covers a lot of ground. It's worth keeping and practicing as well, while still embarking on finding God's way.
