if you read the whole chapter it makes it clear it's not over every nation - just over the nations that oppressed them and made them their captivesWhy is it given to Israel to rule over the nations in the Lord's kingdom?
Yes, it's not every nation. It's every nation in the Lord's kingdom.if you read the whole chapter it makes it clear it's not over every nation - just over the nations that oppressed them and made them their captives
sounds like vindication and tables turned by God on those who treat israel wickedly
i don't see the Lord's kingdom in this chapter - those who oppress israel are not the Lord's kingdom - they are of the devil's kingdom - nations who are disobedient to the LordYes, it's not every nation. It's every nation in the Lord's kingdom.
Israel is given authority to reign over the nations in the Lord's kingdom.
You believe they are given authority to reign over the nations in the Lord's kingdom because the nations reigned over them? I thought God had handed them over to the nations to begin with because they turned from God?
Leviticus 26:17 - Punishments for Disobedience
And I will set My face against you, so that you will be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when no one pursues you.biblehub.com

It's the Medes who destroy Babylon.Isaiah 13:1-14:23 are the prophecies against mystery Babylon, Rev 18, in the end of days that will be destroyed by the brightness of Christ coming on the last day, 2 Thessalonians 2:8; Rev 19:11-19. Those of faith in God, being the 144,000 from the tribes of Israel that have been scattered throughout the nations, (except for the tribe of Dan an Ephraim as they never repented for going after other gods), will be gathered back to Jerusalem before the return of Christ as they are sealed by the Spirit of God before the angels are sent out to hurt the earth, Rev 7:1-8. They along with all who are Christ own that have been sealed unto the day of redemption, Ephesians 4:30, will then enter their rest in the New Jerusalem that God will usher down from heaven, Rev 21:1-5.
Why does Israel rule in the Lord's kingdom?
I’m not sure where you get the idea that Israel rules the Lord’s Kingdom. I’ve read the Old Testament and it is true that God chose the Israelite's, but God also set conditions that they must follow to continue getting His grace. Reading ¼ of the story falls short of His true intentions and what the Israelite's did in return.
If believing this helps you sleep at night, then who am I to bring you nightmares instead. But for those Israelis who do not worship the beast or recieve its mark and remain faithful to death, they will reign over the nations in the Lord's land.
I'm comforted in knowing God keeps his promises. If believing this helps you sleep at night, then who am I to bring you nightmares instead.
May your dreams be comforting and you and yours live peaceful and happy lives
the whole earth belongs to the Lord - but we know that all the people on the earth are not God-lovers or obedient to God - God's people do not oppress God's people - the devil's people do that
It says right there it's the Lord's land. It's not someone elses or governed by others. Normally, when you have a certain area of land and you are the king of that land, it's your kingdom.
Here Israel is yet again, reigning in the Lord's land.
Revelation 20:4 - Satan Bound
Then I saw the thrones, and those seated on them had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image, and had not received its mark on their foreheads or...biblehub.com
You do agree this is the Lord's land in which they reign with the Lord don't you? Or do you believe it belongs to someone else?
Correct, Israel does not oppress thier oppressors. They rule over them just as Christ rules over the nations.the whole earth belongs to the Lord - but we know that all the people on the earth are not God-lovers or obedient to God - God's people do not oppress God's people - the devil's people do that

Why aren't you reading the OT with N T eyes?
We know that in Jesus there are no Greek, no barbarian, no slave, no free, no male and no female so why do you assume that there will be Israel and what ever nations perscuted Israel.
In the new heaven and the new earth there will only be those who are Jesus's.
There a Christian who died during perscution will stand along side the perscutor who million and has since come to Christ.
They will worship Jesus together as brothers.much of the of is written in earthly military/political language and not in my spiritual language.
Not my words but Paul's.How can John tell the difference when you say there is no difference?
Not my words but Paul's.
As for revelation that is a series of word pictures discribing something beyond our comprehension.
There will be far more than just twelve Jewish tribes in heaven, so the picture of 12 tribes is one of completeness.

God gave us instructions on how we should live our lives, but God does not “make” us follow His commandmentsWe can only go as far back as God has revealed. And God has revealed, as you show, that it is His purpose for a chosen people,
