I was reading up in my Bible today about how Jesus was speaking in the book of Luke chapter fifteen verses one through seven all about lost sheep. It is very accurate to me because even though I love Jesus I sometimes feel like there are certain things in my life that are leading me away from Him. However, luckily for me I haven't wandered so far away where I have distanced myself away from Him again and I never plan to let that happen either.

Good for you!
It's one thing to be tempted and it's another thing to abandon
God.

He who endures to the end will be saved.

That is encouraging to hear that you are able to see that you backslide in certain areas at times. The truth is... we all do at various points. The goal is to catch ourselves when we are, and repent so we can start moving forward in Christ. That is what the relationship with Jesus is all about, and He is faithful in forgiving and helping us through.

In peace

Never let us slip so far away that we can not reach out to Christ for restoration and refreshing. Lead me Lord that I walk in your path of righteousness they I will never stray away no matter what tries to come against me.

Just for the sake of explaining this...
The lost sheep parable through the "shrewd manager" stories in Luke is a dissertation on the types of sin. Each one more serious than the previous.

Lost sheep...sins of ignorance
Lost coin....sins of negligence
Lost son.... planned sin
Angry son... unforgiving/judgementalism.
Shrewd manager is a story about forgiveness and since some owed more than others some had very little debt while others still had considerable debt left....but the forgiven amounts were all equal in value.

You are recognising what is leading you away from God at times. That's a great sign. One of my cousins used to frequent a nightclub that was notorious for drugs. She got mixed up with people who led her away from God. One day she woke up to herself and asked the question 'What am I doing here?' That was the beginning of her fight back. I thought it was a great question and can be applied to any temptation
I must start using it myself!

Titus 2:11-14 King James Version (KJV)
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching{ motivates } us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
thank God for grace
Romans 5:20
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
