Oh no, no, no, no, no, no!!! That's a BAD idea right there! I love Christmas as much as the next person don't get me wrong, but I'm glad it's only once a year. I would get SO sick of it! The spirit of the holiday can and SHOULD last all year though. As of right now, I would rather carve my pumpkin and eat my turkey first.
I would never get sick of being showered with free gifts and eating glazed ham and turkey everyday.

Better not cry
Better not pout
I'm tellin you why
Christmas is COMING!!!!!

It's begun around here.

I got a quart of home-made vanilla extract started. (Yes from beans)
2 fifths of Gran Marnier started
1 fifth of Kentucky Bourbon aging in the oak barrel (soon to be replaced with a batch of scotch)

All this will go into candy and cookies.

Soon I'll be getting my 11 lb bar of fine Swiss chocolate for tempering. (Last year's bar is down to a little over a pound)

The gingerbread houses need planning yet. There's probably going to be at least 3 if not more of them. (Probably more...one will be huge)

It's time to slowly start stocking the supplies for cookies and presents.
(100+ dozen cookies are no joke to knock out)

Christmas is my license to do as I please. I got my 2 gallon KitchenAid mixer all broken in (brand new last year) and a small 5 qt to back it up.

I'm going to crush it this year.

Anybody else as excited as me on this?
nope

There is no carving of pumpkins, they aren't nearly ripe yet. And turkeys? All they want to do is eat everything I want to grow, and leave everything invasive. They're absolutely ruining my yard. Can't do a thing about it. But I fantasize about what I could do with a decent pellet gun from Walmart, lol

By the way, speaking of turkeys we have a whole entire flock that seem to like our yard. The babies are actually kind of cute, but comes November all I'm going to be thinking about is food! (Besides what I'm thankful for.)

When I came home the other day I tried counting the baby turkeys; I lost track at 17, and I know there were more than that

As I stated before they are cute, but that won't stop me from eating their relatives comes Thanksgiving. I think we've currently got two mamas and like six babies altogether that visit us on a regular basis.

Lol! This topic reminded me of this hilarious clip from one of my favorite television shows ever! Watch to the end to find out how it's related. :rofl2

Home made Gran Marnier is better than the expensive brand name.

I've got Creme de menthe and Chambord yet to go...

I was thinking about maybe cinnamon candies this year...
I figured out why John pursues excellence in cooking. He's trying to follow Jesus! Consider what a great cook Jesus was:

there was this time when thousands not only ate, but were filled. From just a few fish, and a little bread.

Then there was this other time when the biggest, baddest fishermen in a village of primarily fishermen got skunked, having been out fishing all night with nothing to show for their efforts. They came ashore to find he had broiled some fish! Not only had Jesus beaten them at their own game, but He taught them how. And then they caught so many their nets couldn't hold them all.

If I celebrate Christmas early, will this unbearable summer heat go away?

It isn't that hot where we are. I can take it. I would rather have it right now than snow to be totally one hundred percent honest with you.
