That's what it means to come of of your comfort zone as our risks are Gods accomplishments through us as we are prepared to do what God calls us to do.

Should I be willing to take risks in my spiritual walk?
Do you mean like: "Five times I have received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. Three times I have been beaten with rods; once I was stoned. Three times I have been shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been adrift at sea; on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brethren; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure."? (2Co 11:24-27 RSV)
Or do you mean like Jesus of Nazareth; beaten, scourged, and crucified?
Are you talking about those kind of risks?

The early church leaders walked by faith at their physical risk. Steven, James, all the apostles except John, were murdered by the opponents to the Gospel. Martyrdom has continued from that time until today.

There are biblical answers and there are practical answers. What's hard sometimes is making the practical answers we have line up with the bibical answers we know. Talking on this forum is not a risk to me. Talking to family and people at work is a risk to me. Working hard and trying to live within my means is no more a risk then living itself, but giving to the poor, giving generously my wealth my time and my love to those I hardly know is a burden. And living consistently with the bible is both a study and a ongoing living life thing, it is also a struggle because there are many things that draw us away from the right teachings of the bible. To not fall into a trap that snares us, and to also not accept wrong philosophies is a struggle. I don't know how anyone can further their spiritual wLk without crossing a boundary that is outside of their comfort zone.

Nothing takes the place of stepping out of your comfort zone and out on the limb. Faith is always spelled R-I-S-K! In order to seize your destiny -- step out, God's not only good, He will catch you if you fall and help you to get up and try again!

Don’t worry about the people in your past, for the Lord placed them there. He has an important reason why they won’t appear in your future.

"Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:13-14

1. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 NIV
2. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 KJV

When I find a scripture, I have found the conformation. If I find a scripture, I have found evidence of things not seen. The word of God is Power! Dunamis!

Risk = doubt and doubt = wavering faith = Spiritual Adultery

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:6-8 NKJV

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Galatians 2:20-21

The Just shall live by FAITH. (not risk)
The world lives by risk and not FAITH.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Psalm 37:23

Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3 NKJV

"His Leaf" corresponds with the "Tree of Life"; everything that man does dies; everything Jesus does lives forever and is blessed.

What is not of Faith is sin. Romans 14:23
