Contrasting law and grace does not define the gospels.

I never contrasted law and grace.

I gave scripture that shows us that grace came through Jesus Christ.

His gospel is the Gospel of grace.

We are saved by grace through faith.

Grace came through Jesus Christ.

JLB

Why did Paul refer to his gospel as his gospel?

Because Christ commissioned him personally to preach the Gospel He sent him to preach.

HE OWNED IT!

To turn the Jews and Gentiles from Satan to God... that they should repent.

I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’
“Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance. Acts 26:17-20

Do you believe Jesus?

Do you believe Paul?

JLB

I did, but you ignore them. Why not answer my question to you in post #152!

I did answer your question in post #(152). See post #(154). I used the Trinity as an example. I then asked you when did the Trinity become a doctrine? I asked you also, why is Dispensationalism a dangerous path?

And of course there are the questions in post #(150) concerning Paul's gospel.

I am not disputing that Grace come by Jesus Christ and Law came by Moses.

I am not disputing that we are saved by grace through faith.

I am disputing that there is only one gospel. The message of the Gospel of the Kingdom is not the same as the Gospel of Grace.

The Gospel of the Kingdom to Israel is born out of the Old Testament promises to Israel. The Gospel of Grace is a new Gospel centered on the Person of Jesus Christ and Who He is and the new body formed as a result, the Church.

And that gospel that Christ gave to Paul was a new gospel. (Eph. 3:1-6). "...If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery...Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men...Whereof I was made a minister...."

(Rom. 16:25) "Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began."

So how can Paul's Gospel be the same message as the Gospel of the Kingdom?

I believe both Jesus and Paul. Who do you believe?

Quantrill

I am disputing that there is only one gospel. The message of the Gospel of the Kingdom is not the same as the Gospel of Grace.

Please explain with scripture, why you believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not the Gospel of grace, which was preached by Jesus Christ, and His Apostles, including the Apostle Paul.

Jesus plainly taught us the continuity of His Gospel would be preached up until the Day He returned at the end of the age.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14

Why wont you acknowledge all the scriptures I have given that show this truth, that show us Jesus Christ commissioned Paul to preach the Gospel and call both Jews and Gentiles to repentance?

Christ is the One Who gave it to Paul. (Gal. 1:11-12)

Which had never been revealed before. (Eph. 3:1-6) (Rom. 16:25)

Which brings again the questions you continue to dodge.

How can Paul's Gospel be the same gospel, the same message if it was never heard before?

You have basically ignored the scriptures I have presented.

You refuse to acknowledge them because the scriptures teach us the truth.

We are transferred from the domain of darkness to into the Kingdom of God. The Gospel of Jesus Christ, The Gospel of the Kingdom, The Gospel of grace is the only Gospel.
This Gospel of the kingdom was preached by Jesus Christ, as well as His Apostles, and will continue to be preached until He returns.

There is not some special Gospel for the Gentiles and one for the Jews, there is one Gospel, as Jesus Christ Himself sent Paul to both Jews and Gentiles with the same Gospel.

Which had never been revealed before. (Eph. 3:1-6) (Rom. 16:25)

For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.
Ephesians 3:1-7

  • which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:

The Apostles were Jews. The same Gospel Paul preached to the Gentiles was first revealed to the Apostles, which were Jews.

Then the Jewish Apostle Peter preached to the Gentiles, the house of Cornelius the same Gospel.

Here is the testimony of the Jews about Peter preaching to the Gentiles —

If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?”
When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.” Acts 11:17-18

No, I haven't ignored the Scriptures you present. I have explained them.

The point is the message, the Gospel is different at different times. Again, if Paul's Gospel was not known at any time until he received it from Christ, how can his gospel be the same gospel of the Kingdom?

Again, just because salvation, and repentance are involved in any message God is giving to man doesn't make them the same message.

Dispensationalism is taught in Scripture.

Why not answer my questions. When did the Trinity become a doctrine?

And, you hold to 'dispensations' whether you admit it or not. Do you see an Old Testament and a New Testament. Wella! Those are 'dispensations'.

Quantrill
Trinity is another topic of discussion and off topic to the relevance of this topic so it will not be discussed in this thread.

We ask you questions and you evade them by giving answers that have nothing to do with what we have asked or you try to make us search your post which have no answers to our questions. How can you clarify what we ask if you can not just simply give us a clear answer when asked. It is very difficult to discuss anything with you as you have an I am right and you are wrong attitude. Nobody is telling you not to believe as you do, but also respect what we believe as we discuss our indifferences. There is no place for haughtiness or rudeness as this will never be tolerated from anyone. We are all brothers an sisters of Christ so let's present our self as being pleasing to the Lord as we share with each other.

(Acts 26:17-20) is describing what Paul was required to do. His gospel is described in (Rom. 16:25) and (Eph. 3:1-9).

The question of the Trinity was given as a point of progressive doctrine, as you well know. Not to debate the Trinity. And of course you ignore the point.

You hold to dispensations whether you like it or not. Do you agree? Was the system of the Mosaic Law different than the system of Grace that the Church is under now? Of course it was. Or are we still under the Law of Moses?

So, you hold to two dispensations at least. Does that make you some sort of 'dispensationalist'?

How about Adam and Eve in the Garden? Think about it. Their world was pristine, sinless, and perfect fellowship with God. Their responsibility was to care for the Garden and they could eat of any fruit of it, except from the Tree of knowledge of good and evil. But, they failed.

So, there you have another time period, from Adam to the fall, that cannot be repeated today. A dispensation of 'innocence'. That was unique time where Adam and Eve were under specific command which cannot be repeated today. Do you agree?

So there you go. Possibly you hold to three dispensations. So why do you warn me of going down the wrong road of dispensationalism. Especially since Paul is clear concerning the newest dispensation. (Eph. 3:2)

Quantrill

The dispensation from the grace of God free us from the law of sin and death. This is the gospel Jesus taught and gave to Paul to preach unto the Gentiles who were not under the Jewish laws, but now under the dispensation of grace as Paul taught both Jew and Gentile.

Quantrill
Paul's gospel was the same gospel of Christ in which He gave Paul to specifically preach to both Jew and Gentile. Why do you make this so complicated. It was Paul's gospel (message) Christ gave him to preach.

How could Paul's Gospel be the same as the Gospel of the Kingdom when the Gospel of the Kingdom was already known?
From Genesis to Revelations it's all about the kingdom of God and of God's grace through faith beginning with Noah who found favor in the Lord. Under the dispensation of God's grace through Christ Jesus that whosoever will believe in Him will have eternal life. Christ Jesus, from the foundation of the world, that by grace and those who are Spiritually born again from above an indwelled with the Holy Spirit will inherit the kingdom of God when Christ returns.

Others like the rich man in that parable try climbing up another way, but only Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no man cometh unto the Father, but by Him.

John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
John 10:2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
John 10:3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
John 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
John 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
