Firstly, there were no "Christians" welcoming Jesus into Jerusalem, as there were not yet any Christians.

No followers of Jesus Christ yet?

How do you figure?

The Bible doesn't say that "many of the " Christians " welcoming Jesus into Jerusalem, laying palm branches and their clothes before him as he rode in on a donkey, were also present a short time later screaming for his blood before Piolet".

Firstly, there were no "Christians" welcoming Jesus into Jerusalem, as there were not yet any Christians.

Secondly, there is no evidence that they were the same people "screaming for his blood before Piolet" (Pilate?)

Thirdly, your statement "And so it remains to this day that if Jesus were to arrive on the scene tomorrow to proclaim judgment many churches currently calling themselves " faithful " to him would be calling for him to be quickly silenced " is pure speculative nonsense
So you believe many of today's religious authorities would more likely be very receptive to Jesus's words of condemnation ?
Just as the religious authority in His day, welcomed & received His harsh condemnation ?

There is a difference between people shouting "hosanna" and waving branches and believing that Jesus is the Messiah who died to pay the penalty for all humankind's sin. The people were expecting that Jesus would become their king, freeing them from Roman rule. They had no idea of a resurrected Messiah who would pay the penalty for their sins.

Do you think that posted responses should actually contain the things I told people not to post? Just answer.

Again, and for the last time: You wrote this: "Do not waste our time restating what I have already said, here. Do not chat and share like an intuitive woman. Do not give lame explanations. Do not give shallow speculation. Do not start talking about me. Just give an answer."

Do not waste our time, do not chat and share, do not give lame explanations, do not give shallow speculation, do not start talking about me.

There are a lot of "nots" and a very critical (unwarranted) tone. Is this actually how you communicate with people whom you don't know? Who are you to dictate how others behave? IMHO, you are the one who is most at fault.

I didn’t mention any such thing about people shouting Hosanna and waving branches.

Do you believe the followers of Jesus Christ are not
Christians?

Please address what I said, not what I didn’t say.

Here’s a hint: The disciples were followers of Jesus Christ.

“Therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, beginning from the baptism of John to that day when He was taken up from us, one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.” Acts 1:21-22

Are you going to start doing the things I stated should not be done in a reply? You certainly can if you wish. Nobody is stopping you.

If you do, share with me the best reasons for doing them. Educate me. Thanks for your skill on that.

You will have to define the term "followers of Jesus Christ."

Similar to how I must define simple terms for you per your directive. Agreed? Do you understand as I am sure you do?

I'm confused here. The description of the people waving palm fronds and laying them on the road (also coats) was when Jesus entered Jerusalem. He was not yet crucified and nobody had received the Holy Spirit, so they were not Christians. They were Jews, excited that their king had arrived to free them from Roman rule but that doesn't make them Christians.

There is a difference between a "follower of Jesus Christ" and somebody who has been "born of the Spirit". Intellectually, you can be a pagan, a Buddhist, or even an atheist, but that doesn't make you a Christian. To be a Christian, you must be "born again" (as Jesus told Nicodemus, a Jew who admired Him).

People who follow Jesus Christ; His teachings and commandments.
Following is not the same as being a Christian. You must be "born again" (born of the Holy Spirit) to be a Christian, which is totally different from following Jesus Christ.

If you disagree with this, please give a definition from Scripture of who/what a Christian is.

Using "follow" to define "follow" is a typical example of filling space and time with words. Professional Church Talkers even make a living going so.

I can see that.

So you believe that the followers of Jesus Christ who were there in the city during that time, were not Christians?

Even if they all were not there in the city during that event, whereby He came riding in on a donkey, the question still remains.

Do you believe followers of Jesus Christ were Christains?

What is a follower of Jesus Christ if not a Christian?

When we discuss things here on this Forum, aren’t we filling time and space with words?

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
John 10:27-28

Do you believe a follower of Jesus Christ; someone who follows the Lord’s instructions and doctrine and commandments, have eternal life?

I can see that.

JLB
Correct; they were not Christians. They were Jews who believed that Jesus was going to become their king and free them from Roman rule.

There were no Christians until Jesus died, was resurrected, and sent the Holy Spirit. Then they were "born of the Spirit", i.e., Christian.

There can be many followers of Jesus Christ -- intellectually -- but unless they're born again they are not Christians.

The definition of a follower is someone who agrees with the beliefs of others, or listens to the lead or commands of another. "Following" is an intellectual exercise. I may be a follower of the Rolling Stones, but that doesn't make me a musician.

How is a person born again?

There were no Christians until Jesus died, was resurrected, and sent the Holy Spirit. Then they were "born of the Spirit", i.e., Christian.

Do you have scripture for this statement?

There were no Christians until Jesus died, was resurrected, and sent the Holy Spirit.

So you believe people must have the baptism with the Holy Spirit to be a Christian?

Is that what you are saying?

JLB

Following is not the same as being a Christian.

So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. Matthew 19:28-29
