The "Hello" thread!

Agape, a smiley spider? :mouthdrop:scared:twopistols:fullauto Ahhhh. think it's gone now.
How wrong is IT programming getting?

Can we have that spider smiley

added to the list of available smileys for our posts?
I'd put it in my signature just to help Paul1965 confront his fears.
:yes

Hm, maybe with a 10 liter bucket and a big piece of paper?
But I read on wikipedia that most wolf spiders are harmless, so I'd rather keep it, give it a name and teach it tricks. :)

An old co-worker of mine went to a wild animal park in the San Diego/Orange County area in California when he was younger (probably about 10 or so). There was a worker there letting people handle the tarantulas and thought it would be cool to hold one. Well as soon as the worker placed the spider in his hand it slowly turned around to face him, stood up on it's back legs, hissed and jumped on his shoulder.

Needless to say he is not all that fond of spiders anymore.

Nope couldn't do it no way no how!

In the north of LOS and Laos they deep fry the big hairy ones as a delicacy, I once thought about trying it to defeat my fear but I just cant.

I am kind of on the same page about Calamari. An ex girl-friend of mine wanted me to try some at an Olive Garden. I of course tried on of the rings, which I just assumed was a weird tasting onion ring, but she wanted to try one of the ones that look like a small, breaded and fried, spider. No thanks!

I'd say that was a good recommendation for those who are dieting.

Hi Davies, choice between THAT and starving? I guess I'm a goner.

Calamari is a favourite for me.

My final word on this horrible, nasty topic! They can jump but, they can't..............

I love calamari! I remember the first time I tried it. I was on vacation in CA right on the ocean. The group I was with ordered a sampler plate. I never liked any seafood and was not ever going to even try tasting any of those ocean critters! But they were all deep fried and battered and I did kinda like fried shrimp. So I thought maybe it would be similar. I tried a couple mostly not good. But then I found one I liked and said hey what is this? its goooood! I wanted more :lol

Blev, you ever tried octopus? It's better than calamari IMO, can't get it here though :(

Calamari is squid. The rings are just the tube of the squid sliced up.
