    drunkeness

These were false accusations made against Christ. On another occasion they accused Jesus of being a sinner Jn 9:16. Was Jesus called a sinner because He was seen sinning? No. Was He called a winebibber because Hew as seen drinking fermented wine? No. Was He called a glutton because he was...

    Music instruments in the church?

Eph 5:18ff is directed towards Christians and how Christians are to worship. In the worship service there is no proxy worship and members are to sing one to another (reflexive and reciprocal).

Other places the OT is referred to as "the law and the Prophets" (Lk 16:16) in which Psalms would fit under "law".

A thing does not have to be specifically forbidden for it to be wrong. https://www.christiancourier.com/articles/128-silence-of-the-scriptures-permissive-or-prohibitive-the Jn 4:32-34 true worshippers worship in Spirit and truth. God's word is truth (Jn 17:17) hence NT worshippers worship...

    Music instruments in the church?

Christians can learn from the OT, learn from examples given in the OT (1 Cor 10:6) but is not binding upon the Christian. Rom 7:1-6 the Christian is the one 'married' to Christ and His NT and cannot go back and keep the OT law at the same time else commits adultery against Christ. As Paul made...

    Music instruments in the church?

Absolutely. That's why myself and others do not participate in using IM. Again, if one does not have to follow what the NT teaches about singing then why would one need to follow anything the NT teaches?

Christ took all the OT law out of the way by fulfilling it (Mt 5:17-18). Quotes are taken from the OT by Christ and other NT writers to show how Christ fulfilled it (Lk 24:44). But nowhere does the NT say the OT would continue to be binding upon the Christian...

Again, the OT law (nor Calvinism) is not what directs NT Christian worship. History dhows NT CHristians did not use IM but that IM was a perversion introduced by man centuries after the first century church; https://www.christiancourier.com/articles/1271-history-of-instrumental-music

People are free to choose to sin all they care to, I am not binding anything upon them.

This "cultural language" is nothing more than a poor attempt to undo what Christ and Paul said in plain, clear language in calling Psalms law. I refuse to believe the ideas some people create out of then air. I gave quotes from well known commentators who were NOT members of the church Christ...

Addendum to my last post. If it what Jesus and Paul said can be ignored in calling Psalms "law" (Paul calls Isaiah law) and that Psalms is the guiding book for Christians, then; --where in Psalms did God authorize David to use IM or authorize David to take on multiple wives? If one is...

Eph 5:18-21 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus...

    Music instruments in the church?

I am not trying to bind anything upon anyone, people can choose for themselves what they choose to do. But I will continue to point out there is no justification, no authorization for Christians to use IM. If one does not have to follow what Christ's NT says about singing, then one need not...

Jesus and Paul called Psalms law ..end of story. You have chosen to reject something simple, nothing more I can do. No need for me to continue to spend time on what the Bible has already settled.

It has not been shown from the Bible that IM for the Christian is scriptural. The NT commands each Christian to sing, using IM is changing what God has commanded to Christians. It remains sinful to try and keep both the OT and NT at the same time, a spiritual adultery, Rom 7:1-6.
