    Anybody Here Seen John?

I'll ask mom, maybe she's already seen it. The Prestige is about rival magicians in the 19th century. Christian Bale is also in it, a few other famous stars you'll recognize (and one you probably won't). It's very intense and well-written. Don't worry if you're not into stage magic, it's really...

    Anybody Here Seen John?

I hadn't heard of it until this thread. It does look awesome. Perfect role for Hugh Jackman with his stage presence (have you seen The Prestige, btw?). I may have to drag my mother down to see this movie.

    Hobbies Aikido

My health has improved enough for me to continue some kind of martial arts training again. I recently did about a year of Filipino "Kali" (stick, sword, and knife fighting). I've always had an interest in Japanese Aikidō, and conveniently found a dojo less than 10 minutes from my house. Been...

    Could Christ have sinned?

    Satan only at-tempted Jesus.

    Could Christ have sinned?

I see what you're saying. It's a good point. I guess it depends on your exact definition of tempted, whether it was successful, or just means you felt the temptation. I think you could answer yes or no depending on which definition. The thing is, the OP was equating temptation with actual...

[__ Science __ ] Chance or Design? (Evolution or Creation)

Natural selection is the "elimination process" by which Darwinian evolution retains useful mutations, and discards useless or harmful ones. If a modification is useful, it simply allows the possessing individual to reproduce and pass on it genetic makeup to its progeny. By the same token, a...

[__ Science __ ] Chance or Design? (Evolution or Creation)

Well, I'm a scientist with a degree in biology, and I believe in Father God, but not in a literal scriptural interpretation of creation. I don't believe the earth is only 6,000 years old. I do believe in the theory of evolution and the process of natural selection.

    Could Christ have sinned?

Exactly. "Tempt" is one of those verbs that can be transitive or intransitive, with very different meanings. "He tempted me" is completely different from "I was tempted to...."

    Could Christ have sinned?

Yes, it is why none of us can save ourselves. We all need the Christ, or it ain't gonna happen.

    Could Christ have sinned?

Well, let me answer this way: As a man, He felt temptation; as God, He chose against it.

    Could Christ have sinned?

No, I don't think it's the same. "To be tempted" means for the intention of being tempted. It doesn't mean that intention was successful. I fear you are missing a Biblical truth due to a semantic issue. An example, perhaps: "I went to the river to fish." It doesn't mean I actually caught anything.

That was a great movie. Kind of an intellectual revenge film.

    Could Christ have sinned?

"To be tempted" does not equal "was actually tempted". So short answer, no.

Again this may be due to the chemical connection between the intestines and the brain. Migraines involve problems with the neurotransmitter serotonin, which occurs in the gut as well as the brain. In fact, 90% of the body's serotonin is located in the GI tract.

Hard to say, then. I actually don't get the aura that some people get either. Obviously you would need to see a physician and see what they think. My migraines are like that, however. As bad as they are, once they're gone they're completely gone as though nothing ever happened.

They are notoriously long, usually lasting between 4 hours to 3 days. The longest one I ever had was 5 days before I couldn't take it any longer and went to the emergency room. Do you see lights at all when you get one?
