After drinking 3.3 liters (3.5 US quarts) of Coke every day for a month, this guy has gained weight, his blood pressure has increased, and he's become addicted to Coke. This guy must be a genius. I never would have thought that drinking that much caffein laced sugar water could be bad for you.

I love soda, but I wouldn't even drink that much of it in a week. (Well, unless I was around it constantly...which is exactly why I don't keep any in the house.)
 
And, if he continues he can look forward to gout.

Pepsi is good for you. It contains pepsin, which is good for your digestion.

It also has tons of caffeine in it.I have taken Pepsi and cleaned up the grease on my garage floor.No thanks....I don't want that in my stomach thankyouverymuch.
 
The only difference between Coke and Pepsi is the taste.
 
I drink more then that and I have normal to low blood pressure and Low cholesterol.
hp is never about 130/90. its usually 110/70. heart rate is 55 resting or lower. cholesterol is never above 200. I could have said that before all the walking I do daily. sure I would loose weight if did quit. just letting you know that you personally know a man who drinks that much caffeine and doesn't have that level of issues. my mom is underweight, drinks orange juice and other good stuff. has high blood pressure and is anemic. my mil is kosher and underweight and has high cholesterol and had had triple by pass surgery.
 
I used to drink a lot of soda, and still have not weighed any more than 155. I guess I just have a high metabolism. I really have no idea of my overall health, other than how I feel, as I haven't actually been to see a doctor since I had some digestive issues (heartburn). I know that since I am 40 now I should be seeing a doctor regularly, but I have always been putting my family's needs first.
 
I was a pepsi person.I rarely drink it now.If I do it would be diet caffeine free.Not the same.
some doctors don't recommend diet drinks. why the fake sugar is worse then the real sugar unless one is a diabetic. btw sugar consumption doesn't make on diabetic. that is a myth.
 
I know a man who used to drink about the same amount as in the article. He never got any exercise and also ate lots of candy, but he was and still is skinny. Some people's metabolism seems to be able to handle a lot more than others'.

im not saying what I do is good, but some aren't going to gain weight and others will. just sharing my stats.
 
People can get addicted to Coke or Pepsi.
mt dew, coffee, yes coffee, docs have told my wife when she had a temporary drug induced form of dementia to cut out the coffee intake and tea intake.

Caffeine is found in coffee, cola, tea and (brace yourself) chocolate. Sugar is also addictive, and is found in cola and chocolate, so you can easily become addicted to any of those (least risk with tea, since it's weakest).
