10 Things young people can do for God

Some of the world's greatest accomplishments have been done by young men and women. Alexander the Great became king before he was thirty years old. Some of the great works of Shelley, Byron, Keats, Chopin, and Mozart were composed when they were teenagers. Hitler and Mussolini built their power on the dedication and energy of young people. Today, Communists make their strongest sales pitch to youth, because they know of the influence and dedication of the young. Now, much of the mission work of the church is being done by young adults. And the church needs consecrated young people. Times are perilous and our cause is the greatest that the world has ever known. The very hope of the human race lies in wise youth committed to high principles. Young people need the church - they need Christ. Those who are indifferent to the way of the Lord are inviting sorrow on their lives and souls. Jesus says to young and old alike, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" (Mark 8:34).

Here are ten things that you can do to serve God and gain life's greatest blessing:

(1) OBEY THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST
Christ commands us to believe in Him (John 8:24), to repent of our sins (Acts 2:38 ), to confess His name (Matthew 10:32-33), and to be baptized into Him for the remission of our sins (Romans 6:3-6). Every young person who can understand these commands should obey them. There is nothing you will ever do that will mean so much to you in coming years.

(2) KEEP THYSELF PURE (I Timothy 5:22)
If you like a real challenge, the challenge of conquering our own will is life's greatest, for sin is easy. Besides the personal satisfaction that moral purity brings, it brings also the blessings of God (Matthew 5:8 ).

(3) BUILD A CHRISTIAN PERSONALITY
True greatness lies in spiritual things. Emphasize prayer, study, and righteousness, and they will bless you. "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul"' (Matthew 16:26). Those who follow Christ learn how to do good unto all men, even their enemies. Their lives radiate the beauty of his way (Matthew 5:14-16). Christianity brings peace with God, peace with others, and peace within.

(4) LEAD OTHERS TO CHRIST
Christ has commanded His disciples to take the gospel to everyone. You can be a soul-winner. And nothing enlarges one's faith and spiritual capacity like teaching the lost.

(5) GET A CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
You CAN get a Christian education if you really want to. Your doing so will help you in a thousand ways. A Christian college education will help you to be the best and most productive citizen possible in God's kingdom.

(6) PREPARE YOURSELF FOR A DECENT PROFESSION
The New Testament strongly commands honest and honorable work (I Thessalonians 4:11,12). The Christian life is not that of a parasites but one of industry and service.

(7) BUILD A CHRISTIAN HOME
Next to obeying the gospel of Christ, the greatest favor you will ever do yourself is to build a Christian home. When you marry, MARRY A CHRISTIAN.

(8 ) PREPARE FOR CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP
The church needs every competent leader and teacher that it can get. Develop your talents for Christian leadership by the sincere and zealous practice of spiritual responsibilities. Be USEFUL in the Lord's service.

(9) ENCOURAGE AND HELP OTHERS
Everyone bears a burden. When we help bear other's burdens and encourage them in Christ's walk, we fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).

(10) BE FAITHFUL THROUGHOUT YOUR LIFE
(Read Revelations 2:10) Many perils will beset your pathway. Temptations and disappointments came to the Lord and they will also come to you. And all who live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer some persecution (2 Timothy 3:12), but God calls us to a life that man cannot destroy and to treasures that are eternal. He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Keep your faith and it will keep you. There is great potential in your life. May God bless you as you develop it in His service.

1. Be an example before others no matter how hard the world
comes against you.
2. Do not conform to this world or what it calls good. Do not be a friend
of the world.
3. Dress nice, and keep all private area's private. I also like the new jeans
but I wear shirts and top's that cover my stomach. Not because I have too
but because it's right.
4. Love your brothers and sisters if you have any at home with you,so they can trust you and believe in what you are doing, even if they rebel.
5. Love your parents even if you don't agree with them. Avoid fighting with
them.
6. If you must go to public school, stay strong in your faith even if you are
not allowed to talk about it to others.
7. Don't smart off to the worldly or secular teachers even though they are
bad news. Tell God,and they will get what they deserve. Don't take it upon
yourself to argue with them. Just tune out their worldly ideas knowing they
are ruled by sin and satan's lie's.
8. Try your best to avoid gossip as best you can. You don't want to speak
evil of no one. If you must discuss the behavior of the lost,do it with your
christian brothers and sisters. There is nothing like seeing the lost call who each other names. They are use to fights and name calling.
9. Stay pure even if others try to get you to do things with your body that
you know are wrong. They only wish to bring you down because they feel
so low, because they played the role of the fool already.
10. Avoid violence and all acts of rage and abuse. If you hang out with an
angry person, you'll have to rescue them time and time again. Avoid the
angry, the violent and all forms of rebellion. Stay true and stay strong.
Great is your reward from your Father in Heaven. He's worth everything
you've got,amen.

That's just funny.

7. Don't smart off to the worldly or secular teachers even though they are

yourself to argue with them. Just tune out their worldly ideas knowing they

Gee, is this more of this Christian love I keep hearing about?

8. Try your best to avoid gossip as best you can. You don't want to speak
evil of no one.

How can you say with a straight face after you just said that all non-Christian teachers are evil liars that are ruled by Satan.

If you must discuss the behavior of the lost,do it with your
christian brothers and sisters.

You do know that gossip, right? You just broke your own rule.

10. Avoid violence and all acts of rage and abuse. If you hang out with an
angry person, you'll have to rescue them time and time again. Avoid the
angry, the violent and all forms of rebellion. Stay true and stay strong.
Great is your reward from your Father in Heaven. He's worth everything

Is that what Jesus would have done? Shun them, ignore them, avoid them? Jesus associated himself with the worst classes of ppl in his day. He embraced and loved them, no matter their crimes.

WWJD?

:o First of all,it is very clear that you think christian love should
be what the worldy and secular calls love. Christian love is based on
real love. The kind of love that protects its loved ones, not the loose
morals of those who desire to corrupt the young people in the world.
When Jesus was around all those lost individuals, they each had a choice
in how to respond and treat him. Many were saved because they chose
to listen to him. Jesus did not force them to listen.
Bad company spoils good habits, and that is very obvious today more than
ever.We are not Jesus,we follow Jesus. We worship him,not ourselves.
He is much greater than us. Young people should avoid all types of evil
and all those who are wicked.
You cannot judge all christians the same way. If thats the case, then all
worldly and lost people must be the exact same way.
Those who want to know Jesus Christ won't like the way they are living,
and they will seek help. The lost who desires to be saved know that they
can ask questions and they know that there are christians who are more
than willing to help them.
The way you act,you would seem to think that children and young people
should risk their lives trying to force the gospel on those that have made
it perfectly clear they don't want it. When did Jesus Christ force what he
taught on anyone?

:D Gossip as we all should know,is when people choose to talk
bad about another person in order to hurt or cause harm to another
individual instead of help them.
Christians can discuss what a secular person is doing in order that they
may pray for them and help them.If a secular person wants prayer and
if they want salvation they will usually tell all about themselves,so in most
cases there is no need to discuss their problems with anyone. Paul told on
some of the people who treated him badly. That is not gossip, that is a
clear warning. Self destructive people seem to not only cause harm to
them selves, but to every person they are around also.
Slander and gossip is when people try to harm another person,or cause
their reputation to be destroyed on purpose.
Usually there are mostly lies involved in this sort of thing.
Praying for another person to God in Jesus's name is not gossip, nor is it
gossip when you discuss with other christians how the lost behave towards
you.

Excellent thing to impose on young people, demanding that they believe something and to devote the rest of their lives to something they dont even know exists.

That just depends upon who’s ideal “pure†is based upon.

Just by believing in something, makes one become the pinnacle of human goodness? Someone can be a good person without needing to follow a religion. Why not instead try another religion that focuses upon bringing happiness to yourself and others? Such as Buddhism for example. But of course, trying to understand the world and bring happiness to its inhabitants is the work of the devil if those who do it follow Buddhism.

(4) LEAD OTHERS TO CHRIST
Christ has commanded His disciples to take the gospel to everyone. You can be a soul-winner. And nothing enlarges one's faith and spiritual capacity like teaching the lost.

In other words, bring others who think for themselves into the fold of Christ, and not only will you feel better about yourself, but they will to?

(5) GET A CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
You CAN get a Christian education if you really want to. Your doing so will help you in a thousand ways. A Christian college education will help you to be the best and most productive citizen possible in God's kingdom.

Or, try your hardest at the education you are lucky enough to get. A Christian education alone wont automatically ensure that you do well, there are plenty of colleges, universities and schools that are not “Christian†based and still produce highly educated people.

(6) PREPARE YOURSELF FOR A DECENT PROFESSION
The New Testament strongly commands honest and honorable work (I Thessalonians 4:11,12). The Christian life is not that of a parasites but one of industry and service.

Prepare yourself for the profession that you want. If by parasites you mean things such as drug dealers, then yes, stay clear of those who live off the misery of others.

(7) BUILD A CHRISTIAN HOME
Next to obeying the gospel of Christ, the greatest favor you will ever do yourself is to build a Christian home. When you marry, MARRY A CHRISTIAN.

Or how about, marry the man/woman you love?

(9) ENCOURAGE AND HELP OTHERS
Everyone bears a burden. When we help bear other's burdens and encourage them in Christ's walk, we fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).

What if that person is an atheist? Or a Muslim? Or a Hindu? Does their religious stance other than your own suddenly exclude them from your efforts?

2. Do not conform to this world or what it calls good. Do not be a friend
of the world.

Would that include what Christians believe to be “good†as well?

3. Dress nice, and keep all private area's private. I also like the new jeans
but I wear shirts and top's that cover my stomach. Not because I have too
but because it's right.

Dress how you wish, and what you feel comfortable with.

4. Love your brothers and sisters if you have any at home with you,so they can trust you and believe in what you are doing, even if they rebel.

Rebel against whom? Is Christianity suddenly a set system in which people who dont believe it are now branded as rebels?

7. Don't smart off to the worldly or secular teachers even though they are
bad news. Tell God,and they will get what they deserve. Don't take it upon
yourself to argue with them. Just tune out their worldly ideas knowing they
are ruled by sin and satan's lie's.

Yes, indeed. Anyone who doesn’t agree with you is ruled by sin and satan. Excellent way of being open minded. A lot like drinking actually…they both make you happy and they both make you think you’re the only one that’s right.

8. Try your best to avoid gossip as best you can. You don't want to speak
evil of no one. If you must discuss the behavior of the lost,do it with your
christian brothers and sisters. There is nothing like seeing the lost call who each other names. They are use to fights and name calling.

What did you just do in number 7? Where you talking nicely of those sinful Satanists who dont agree with you?

9. Stay pure even if others try to get you to do things with your body that
you know are wrong. They only wish to bring you down because they feel
so low, because they played the role of the fool already.

Yes, trying new things with friends makes one of them a low life. How dare they! If a young person wants to try something new they generally try and do it with a friend, because they are a person they feel comfortable with and trus, not because they feel low themselves and are trying to bring others down. Don’t be so paranoid.

Or, instead of trying to avoid them, why don’t you go out of your way and try to help them? Say for example via Anger Management, or trying to speak with them? If you let a weed be it only grows and multiplies.

The kind of love that protects its loved ones, not the loose
morals of those who desire to corrupt the young people in the world.

Riiiight…so, if one doesn’t love someone else like a Christian, they are actually trying to corrupt them? I would see a sect that tries to keep young people narrow minded, not open to new ideas, tries to get them to shun those they could try and help, and doesn’t try new things more as corrupting them.

He is much greater than us. Young people should avoid all types of evil
and all those who are wicked.

I wouldn’t recommend to a young person degrading themselves in the face of something that seems to belittle them with its towering glory.

You cannot judge all christians the same way.

You seem to judge those who don’t follow Christianity in a similar way.

Those who want to know Jesus Christ won't like the way they are living,
and they will seek help.

Indeed, attract more followers by highlighting the bad things in their lives, degrading them as sinful and rubbish then offering them a quick-fix solution that will ultimately lead them to a paradise in the sky. Drug dealers act in similar ways.

Gossip as we all should know,is when people choose to talk
bad about another person in order to hurt or cause harm to another
individual instead of help them.

By your measurement of gossip I can indeed see how highlighting those who aren’t Christians as evil and wanting young people to avoid them instead of reaching out to them is obviously not gossip *Sarcastic Thumbs Up*.

Christians can discuss what a secular person is doing in order that they
may pray for them and help them

So its alright for Christians to do it, but others cant? If nasty gossip is what a person choses to lower themselves to, then that is their choice.

Slander and gossip is when people try to harm another person,or cause
their reputation to be destroyed on purpose.

And clearly calling non-believers sinners and devils advocates who are going to burn in hell does not fall under this category.

nor is it gossip when you discuss with other christians how the lost behave towards you.

And that is because….? It will still paint a bad image of the person in the minds of the Christians who hear it. Thats gossip.

This is for the Adults reliving their youth.
