Pick one of these Proverbs, anyone, and tell us all how it speaks to you.

Share and share alike.

Proverbs 19:20 ;
"Listen to council and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days".

Proverbs 24:6;
"For by wise council you will wage your own war, and in a multitude of councelors there is safety".

Proverbs 24:5;
"A wise man is strong, yes, a man of knowledge increases strength".

Okay, then, I'll share.

When I read the 1st proverb, I saw myself being discipled as a new Christian.
It was very positive counseling, I needed it, I wanted it, it came in handy.
No internet back in the day, if I wanted to know more of God, I had to work to find out.
It makes it all the more worth while.

Now being the one who is the mentor, today is no different than the past.
Times have changed, but people still need to be taught the Word of God.
I've had the opportunity to disciple people in the past, but lately, with 4 different people, they have walked away from the teaching.
It's very frustrating, but God knows.

The 2nd proverb adds to the first.
By wise council, you are better prepared to face the world.
We need all the help we can get.
And adding wise councelors to our lives (such as Bible studies, regular church attendance, etc...), we are kept safe.

The 3rd proverb puts me where I am now, it's been a long road, God has given me much, and it is my duty to share what I know with others.
A very wise man knows that he can still learn from others.

Proverbs 24:6;
"For by wise council you will wage your own war, and in a multitude of councelors there is safety".
A Christian is an arrogant fool if he thinks he's going to know all things and be successful in things by figuring them out himself. By God's design there are things that we will only know by seeking the counsel of others. It's his plan for unity among the brethren.

Proverbs 24:5;
"A wise man is strong, yes, a man of knowledge increases strength".
Knowledge is not power, as this seems to suggest. In Christianity, knowledge leads to the one who has power.

...and by the way...am I blind, or is this thread just now becoming visible?
