Did you know that when you accepted Jesus into your heart that you are no longer your own person anymore! Through regeneration or Spiritual renewal you have chosen to surrender every aspect of your being to that of being a faithful servant of God. Through your respect for what God has done in your own life you have now picked up your cross to be that disciple and follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
(John 3:5-7; Matthew 16:24-28)

Through humility we have laid down our own lives, our own will and obedience to this world in exchange for Gods will in our lives and our obedience to him as we become that faithful servant that is no longer of this world, but through perseverance we strive daily through all the struggles of this world as we become loyal to the works of the Lord as he sees us through everything we face in this world.
(Proverbs 15:33; Colossians 2:23; Romans 12:1-3; Philippians 3:7-12)

We become disciples of Jesus the day we ask him into our hearts for we now can know the mind of Jesus through the Holy Spirit that teaches us all things that Jesus was and still is as a faithful servant of God and today he uses those who are faithful to him to serve others through us. We are Gods hands, mouth and feet as he works through us to reach out to others. Just as the disciples were commanded to go out into the world, we too have that same commission.
(Luke 14:26, 27 – Vs. 26 means to put Christ first; John 14:26; Colossians Chapter 3; Matthew 28: 18-20)

God will use our talents for His glory as He takes us to where He wants us to be, even if it’s only for a time and season. We can only serve others by allowing the love of God work through us to reach out to those who need hope in their own lives. We can do nothing of our own selves, but through the guidance of the Holy Spirit we can do all things that we might deem incapable of doing by allowing the Holy Spirit work through us.
(Philippians 4:13)

Hi For His Glory.

Amen. More recently, I always try to make it a point to say it like this. "giving your life to Jesus in faith" instead of 'coming to faith'. I think that it paints a better picture of what a saving faith is. I need to remind myself of this all the time.

The way to become a vessel of honor starts by cleansing ourselves from being a vessel of dishonor.

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. 2 Timothy 2:20-21

  • Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor.

A worker approved by God is found in 2Timothy 2:14-26 as then being a vessel of honor as we give ourselves over to know the mind of Christ, 1Corinthians 2:6-16; Colossians 3:1-17.

More precise is that Jesus is our faith as we believe in His birth, death and resurrection who now sits at the right hand of God making intercession for all who will come to Him. To know Him is to be a faithful servant of God following in the footsteps of Jesus.

All have been bought by the blood of the Lamb as all are called, but few will only answer God calling to them.

If you buy (pay for) 100 gallons (bottles) of water at the store, and take home only one gallon and leave 99 gallons on the shelf at the store where they stay indefinitely,

how many gallons are used and useful to someone ? Only one.

Did you read the verse I emphasized?

Yes, I read that verse.

If we are truly Spiritually born again and indwelled with the Holy Spirit, John 3:5-7, then Jesus has already cleansed us from sin. At that point we become a vessel of honor as we picked up our cross to follow Jesus and continue in the works He left for us to do, Matthew 25:31-45.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

If we are truly Spiritually born again and indwelled with the Holy Spirit, John 3:5-7, then Jesus has already cleansed us from sin.

Remember it is our spirit that is born again.

Our soul needs to be restored and renewed.

Our spirit man also is cleansed when we confess our sin.

This is the work of sanctification.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1

Go read the parable of the wedding feast in Matthew 22:1-14 especially vs. 14.

I agree. Hebrews chapter 10 is teaching us of Christ's sacrifice for all and having the full assurance of faith.

Blessings in Christ, sister, and reading this out in full was a nice way to wake up this morning.

I remember when I first got born again, it was not long after that that I remember kneeling down in prayer when I was in a college dorm room and telling Him that I wanted the wisdom to lead His people. I suppose I'm still working towards that goal, but the part I remember so clearly is that I just wanted to serve Him. I wanted my life to be lived for His service. It was a form of laying down my life, as you say, and it came very quickly. It would be four decades to get to where I am now, and I believe I have two decades still to go, but it was as if I converted over into a completely new purpose for living, one I am still seeking to live out ad fulfill today.

Blessings and wonderful thread.

It certainly is a process of time, but what a wonderful journey seeing our life change from day to day as we become more like Christ and to know the mind of Christ for our purpose here on earth. It's not always easy being that servant of God as Satan will try everything to discourage us and put obstacles in our way, but greater is He that is in us then he that is in the world.

Blessings to you and yours as we live our lives for the Lord :)
