AI Experts Admit to Building ‘Gods’—Did They Create Something Worse?

AI is nothing more then what man programs into it as it is a man made machine. In this world we will have trials and tribulations, but take heart as Jesus has overcome this world and those who are truly in Christ are no longer of this world as we keep our focus on Christ Jesus.

Well actually, it's not so funny.

AI is very bad for the following reason IMHO:

In the past, if I wanted to learn about something, I had to buy books and read them.
I have many books about the Christian Religion.
As one looked up something or other...he stayed with the book and learned about different topics.
If I wanted different opinions,,,I had to get different books.

Then Google came along.
Any topic could be googled and different opinions could be read and different scientists, professors, writers, etc. could be put into our brain cells and then digested and we'd come out with some idea or other.

With AI...we will no longer be needing Google.
Much to our dismay, as we will soon see.
If you ask AI a question...it will give you an answer...
based on HOW you asked it, and WHAT sources it used to come up with the answer.

This happened on this very forum about 2 weeks ago when a member posted a reply from chatGPT4 because he asked it something and it gave a reply he liked.
I told him ChatGPT doesn't really work at all and I posted the opposite answer to his inquiry, just by asking the question in a different way.

So what will happen?
We've graduated from books......
to Google.....not soooo bad,
to AI and most kids will just accept the reply it gives and that's that.

Least ye forget; Father is the "giver of all knowledge". AI is programmed by man; and it can only be given the information that men have kept throughout human history. And the "understanding" of the computer is based on that; and it cannot just make up any "truth" based on that, it can merely present and argue the same "theories" men have been debating and arguing about for thousands of years.

Science and evolution are perfect examples; scientist claim the earth is millions of years old based on their research, they even have a "theory" as to how old the Universe is. But none of those scientist were there when the earth was created; and any computer saying that "scientific theory" is the absolute truth is malfunctioning.
For evolution, if "random" life is constantly evolving here on this earth; how can a computer say that is true based on what is known. I've seen "charts" showing the different stages of "man" evolving from the apes; but "homo sapiens" have been "stuck" for a long time now. From homo erectus to Neanderthals'; why did the physical body stop changing.

Nah, its the Wikipedia situation all over again. The lack of understanding of Ai will cause people to over estimate and over estimate its capabilities. Then we will have the backlash period where the newness wares off. Then people who know its strengths will use it properly and a new shiny tech will be in. Just like Vr and Tablets.

I am certain, because there really is a God. Father gathered debris that had been left from entire planets that were destroyed in the creation of the earth; that is why the stone and bone can be "dated" in the manner it is. Some "patches" of this dirt is much older than others.

It's just that it's not true and I'm really not willing to debate whether or not water is wet.

Some things just don't require DEBATE but open eyes and an open mind and the ability to see what is ALREADY changing and we're just at the beginning.

Do you think we'll still have the same jobs available to us in 20/30 years?
Maybe even sooner at the rate this is moving.

Wonder how people will live without an income?
Something will be invented.

The elderly take care of themselves.
When they cannot anymore, in 80% of the cases (my own estimate) they will be sick and no robot will help them.

Already we're learning to depend on a machine.

certified nursing assistant ,basically ,cleans ,feds and gives meds to patients .

so my wife having a shoulder replacement and no cartilage shouldn't but a modern self operating dishwasher ,programmable washer and dryer that uses an app or vacuum but as told by her doctors not to continue wearing those joints out ?

my wife is 66 .in 52. my wife would love driver assisted parking .yes they do make that . she can't turn her neck fully and I don't have a back up camera in either truck .


not all are near death .my mom can drive barely but wont drive to Miami .if it was not me or my brother she would have to risk it or pay Uber and using them is risky at best

nevermind not worth it .I won't use any truck for commercial use gig work I know the maintamce needed as I fixed most of the issues with my Nissan which I did

my wife will have cnas come visit her to do therapy after surgeries ,she has before .we had one for her shoulder surgery .

I'm not a fan of the way so can be abused but I also mention that as fewer kids will be born and forget that non machine employee .they ain't gonna be manual labor .Mike rowe mentioned that as a big problem .s Korea is facing skill loss as is Japan an yes the u.s .

ai isn't gonna touch plumbing ,electricians ,skill labor .but white collar jobs mostly .

ai won't save us from the looming population decline but neither is it all bad


my job tracks me from the second I start my truck city hall sees it ,they can watch me input reads libs .I have done that for the new guy .I skipped 84 reads and I waited for city hall to call me and ask why so many and I told them why ,because the zero button doesn't work .my second job also tracks drivers and knows when you start to deliver ,it's delivered and where you are

usps,ups,Amazon ,fed ex all do that .

20 years ago I could make a good living selling Direct Tv and phones with this new texting feature. Now that job is not as profitable because of streaming. Video rental stores were big 20 years ago and now they are gone. People bought cds and now streaming is the biggest way people get music.

Why go to the library? We have Wikipedia and the general internet?

Why talk to real people. You can jump on a web forum and talk to people?

I'm being a little cheeky, but the point I'm making is that AI is scary because its new. Its also limited. Its definately in its infancy and its mostly just useful for most people as a glorified Google or a way to make quick slop "art"

AI can't think on its own without prompts and most companies will end up using it for data crunching and code checking.

Every 5 years I have heard this dooms day argument and every 5 years life keep on a trucking.
 
As Jason mentioned, the jobs that are most likely to get hit with AI is middle management office jobs. If you work a trade, unless robotics gets really advanced (far from where its at now) its not going to impact you much.

It is just an algorithm. To say "Others have become proficient in research-grade chemistry without ever being taught it." is nonsense. AI can read every book that was ever written on Chemistry. Of course, we need to be very careful and they tell us that when we sign onto the system.

I am not a Bill Gates fan so we need to be even more careful with him being involved in this. But I bought Microsoft stock when AI first same out and that was a very good investment. In the last 6 months it has gone from $350 to $550.
