All Nighters....

Way back in my college days (about 5 months ago), I used to pull them. One weekend I had a huge group project due. We started working on it at Friday morning at about 7:30am and finished it monday morning at 7:45 am (it was due Monday at 8). Needless to say, we were in the library the minute it opened until the minute it close friday, saturday, and sunday, and the rest of the time we were at one of our houses working on the thing. I think I had about 3 hours of sleep the whole weekend. Plus on Sunday I had to take a break to go lead a small group of middle school kids while I was dead tired. Talk about a long weekend.

I pulled them fairly frequently in college. My friends and I were all very late night people anyway, usually going to sleep around 3 or 4 and then either sleeping in till afternoon or taking naps in when we had morning class. One semester, I had a Mon/Wed class that was required for my major and met at 8:00 am. I also had a couple other Monday classes, all of which had homework due on Mondays. Always hated doing work on the weekend, so I would put it off and not start until Sunday afternoon after church and football. Second or third week into the semester, roomie and I both start too late on Sunday, and didn't finish our work till like 6:30. At that point, it was easier just to stay awake, so we got some coffee and played some video games until class. (believe it was Quake 3 we were into then). Anyway, we both had a pretty enjoyable night, and started doing it regularly. Work would get put off later and later on Sundays, since we knew we'd stay up all night anyway. By the end of the semester, I don't even think we were starting our work till after midnight.

I pull allnighters all the time...I am a professional procrastinator after all. :-D I like to write papers close to the last minute...however I still mange to do well on them. Oh please pray for me and my procrastination...I really need to break the habit.

I've noticed that a lot of my rushed papers turn up good grades. I wrote a paper in like 30 minutes and got an A on it. But yet, I worked on one for days and got a B on it. I think that when I take my time, I have a tendency to ramble or repeat the same things and that in turn hurts my grade. Too much info isn't always a good thing and I'm learning that.

Yep well I think it all depends on the person you are. For some it works to work at the last minute but for others it is not a good idea at all.

I have found that I need to stop waiting till the last minute because I sometimes don't edit my papers as much as I could have if I had done them much earlier.
