An example of why we should keep our critical faculty

We should always keep our critical awareness turned on. We are often told about scams, etc yet they frequently purchase us they are real.
It is both our gullibility and our greed they appeal to.

I believe if one truly has Christ in them and continue to seek out His word He will protect us from all the evil principalities of this world so we will not be taken as a thief in the night. Satan is a sly fox, but no match when it comes to us trusting in God.

We should always keep our critical awareness turned on
Just to be the devil's advocate here, .......do you think most Christians maintain critical awareness, when studying the Bible? Don't they err on the side of faith? God's a mystery so we can't expect to understand everything.....??

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13 KJV

Sorry, but that's a defeatist statement.

Proverbs 4:7
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.../

Proverbs 25:2
2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.../

Revelation 1:6
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.../

It stands to reason that God understands the Bible, since He inspired it. We should learn at His feet.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16 KJV

I think most Christians have no critical thinking ability where Christianity is concerned.
