Mat 12:31 ASV Therefore I say unto you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.
Mat 12:32 ASV And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in that which is to come.

Cannot get more offencive than calling the Spirit of God unclean.

These are heavy duty scriptures . They have terrified some folks who think they have committed this sin and it should.. But imo the ones who commit this sin may be sorry they get in bad situations but they're incapable of Godly repentance and to seek God, only sorry for themselves with no true heart at all to seek God .. Satan will take advantage of some Christians who remain weak in the Word and convinced they have committed this sin and fly at their carnal mind like birds of prey attacking at it trying to convince you there is no hope.. He will lie and say things like ''you ain't saved'' ''God hates you'' ''you don't love God'' but your heart and the Word of God says different.. otoh The person who has committed this sin has no remorse and no conviction, regard or thought of the true God (Jesus).. They are completely numb/dead to God . Even in hell they will not know what Jesus is all about, only sorry they're there, their :lol condition remains hopeless eternal .. Even the devil and his demons don't get it .. They may want relief but they have give up life long ago, they had it but give it up ..

If one rejects the wooing of the Holy spirit, turning their backs to His loving call, what more can He do? They've rejected the free gift of His salvation, and forgiveness, so how can they be forgiven?

In Matthew 12:22-36 Jesus is bringing up blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. The whole point of what he was saying is about the goodness of God and the brood of vipers that couldn't see the Holy Spirit's goodness because they were hell bent on their own agendas.

God's purpose builds up and heals and they didn't want that.

1 Timothy 1:13 Paul (Saul) was a blasphemer and even persecuted Christians to death, but was a blasphemer out of ignorance in unbelief for he knew not Christ or the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It wasn't until his conversation on the road to Damascus that his spiritual eyes and ears were opened, to understanding, Acts 9.

Those who walk in unbelief are just that being nonbelievers and are none of Christ like Paul was at one time. Those who have walked in truth given them by the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) John 14:26, are those who have also turned back to the flesh just as the foolish Galatians who walked away from faith in Galatians chapter 3 are those who blasphemy the Holy Spirit as they knowing the truth have walked away from it as their hearts become hardened.

Hi kiwidan, The blasphemy was that they gave the credit of chasing out demons in a man by the Holy Spirit to Satan in the presence of Deity. You can blasphemy Christ and be forgiven, but not the Holy Spirit, especially being a witness to it's power. (Matt. 12:22-37)

Because they were calling the Holy Spirit the devil. God can't really get more offended than that.

Mark 3:29-30

Its near impossible for a believer to blaspheme the Spirit. Even if someone swears at God in anger then repents God can brush it off, but believing God is the devil and unclean why would God forgive that.

Anyone who believes in God does not blaspheme the Spirit because they don't believe God is unclean even if they swear and curse, they just think God is being unfair or something.
I agree, but many wrongly think they have

Don't you think the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit could be the judgment that would to come against the Sanhedrin, those in the temple, who judged Jesus?

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is when a person calls God's Spirit and His Way unclean, not holy. Then, since Christ is the only Way, through His blood, calling it an unclean thing or Way makes God's job of forgiving impossible because although He wants to save this person, he has rejected Jesus, the only avenue to God's forgiveness.
I had to personally get grips with this issue years ago. I was at the point one day where I was soooo afraid I had done the unimaginable, that I confessed to God that I did it, and needed forgiveness. It then became apparent I had not done it, because the Spirit was not only working in me, but also I yearned to believe God was good, and not a trickster of sorts. So God used what Satan meant for evil against me to do good for me.
