BORN AGAIN
I was wretched, and sad, and lost in my sin.
Could I receive grace to start over again?
Anew in His hope, anew in His blessing?
Was I even worthy? Well, that left me guessing.
I cried, I lamented, that my sins broke His heart.
How could he forgive me, give me a new start?
So I sought out his people, to them I did cry.
How can God forgive me for living a lie?
Well, they MUST have prayed for me, 'cause His Spirit did say:
"My child, I'll forgive you, if you'll die today.
Not the death of this earth, but the death of your sin,
And then you must vow not to do it again!
Abide in my Word, and I'll comfort your soul.
Show forth your light from up under the bowl.
Seek out my people, tell them of my love,
And then someday, you'll see me, in the clouds up above!"
