Are you lucky to have been born in a Christian Family? Is that really luck? Does it make you luckier than that man born in a community that does not recognise God?

It is not luck, it is God's providence. There is no such thing as luck.

You are right - there is no such thing as lucky, fortunate etc.. in our Christian dictionary. But you know what am trying to say:)

Well, what you are alluding to is a seemingly random event that you you were born into a Christian family. But a student of the Bible knows that God knew us before time began, therefore, He knew who our parents would be and that we would be raised in a Christian home. That had nothing to do with chance, or fortune.

I think God places us where he wants us to be. For me, I am glad he placed me in my community when he did or I may still be lost. Where I grew up there was most definitely a lot less Christian influence than there is where I am now. It was this influence from my neighbors and friends that helped push me along toward the center of the road again.

I was born in a Christian family. I don't know if that means I was fortunate or not. From a Christian perspective, I suppose it might be good, but from my perspective, just having a loving, nurturing family is probably good enough.

Most of us on this forum are lucky to have been born into Christian families in an affluent Western world. Far luckier than being born into a Christian family in say: Iran, Lebanon, Pakistan, Indonesia etc.

I'm afraid I find this notion that some were chosen by God, before they were born to be extreme arrogance. Self delusion taken to the limit! People are effectively saying, 'I'm special, I was chosen by God before I was even born' :lol To them I say, get over yourself. Just remember that the Jews regarded/regard themselves as the chosen people, as do the Muslims and just about every small sect that ever existed.
It is the mind-set that allows people to 'justify' :armed dictatorship. :verysick

Just count yourself lucky if you live in a peaceful country with religious freedom and tolerance of others enshrined in the laws of the land.:thumbsup
