I'm thinking of laying down some concrete in one corner of the backyard and building a basketball goal with adjustable height. Doesn't have to be a full half court. Just maybe somewhere close to three point land all the way around. It wouldn't take up much of the grass we have left now - maybe some, but there would still be plenty of grass for the dog. But I don't like to walk, I don't like to run, I don't swim and we don't really have room for a full-sized pool back there anyway. But I like the distraction of trying to make baskets. It takes my mind off the fact that I'm actually exercising. And I'm jumping, running, moving my whole body, even being a little creative at the same time, so I enjoy it. They have a basketball park somewhat nearby, but I just want to be able to walk into the backyard, grab my ball and shoot hoops for 30 minutes without having to drive anywhere or find something clean to wear that will just end up being a sweaty mess soon anyway. I wanna walk out back and just start exercising.

I have a fence almost exactly like in the image above, so I might follow much the same design. Any thoughts? I'm thinking of it because I need some outside activity. Without enough sun in my daily routine, I start to feel like I'm dying or something, LoL (and maybe I am for all I know).

LoL! If only I could teach Tucker how to shoot hoops : )

Yeah, I already thought of that. The guy has the rim assembly spaced away from the fence a little to prevent it some, but I figure if the idea is exercise I can always just walk all the way to my neighbors house on the other street and go get it, Make lemonade out of lemons kind of thing.

You could put up a catch net on a couple of poles coming up from the fence :idea.

Or I could just learn how to shoot, LoL.

I was thinking of always trying to use the backboard when at an angle and try to bank it, so that if anything it just bounces back into the court. It would be for straight on shots that I'd have to learn not to airball the thing.

Maybe if I dribble a lot first.
