A professing young-earth creationist should be the last person to call into question the historical, objective nature of Christianity. However, Todd Wood does this in his book, The Quest.
Wood is a YE creationist. But he's too honest to deny that the evidence is often inconsistent with YE creationism. You can't prove God by collecting evidence. He's there in your heart, if you want to accept Him. As Jesus pointed out, the Kingdom of God isn't here or there; it's within you. God is always a matter of faith. If He chose to do so, He could make Himself unambiguously evident. But He does not. I suspect that He wants each of us to be able to come to Him or reject Him of our own volition, and if He was objectively demonstrable, that would not be the case.
