Like you, I know both Protestant and Catholic theology.
I'd be interested in knowing your understanding of confession and the real presence.
Let's deal with confession here.
It seems very clear to me that in John 20,19 Jesus is passing on the authority to forgive sin.
But if only God can forgive sin, why should man have this authority?
Also, i don't recall the didache being explicit about this. What about the Early Church Fathers?
Or better yet, the Apostolic Fathers.
