First off, the word "soul" means "breathing creature".
Souls are used to refer to the great sea 'monsters', to 'man'.
Translations usually distort it.
Gen 2:7- And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Translations not only remove God's name, but distort the word "nephesh" (mean "soul") to read anything but!

Next, the judgment of God for Adam & Eve's treason, was simply "DEATH" (Heb "dying you will die").
Not LIVING, burning forever in a gigantic BBQ Pit!
NOWHERE in the Bible is such a thing even HINTED at!
In Jesus days, people destroyed garbage by using fire in the valley of Hinnom (Gehenna) out side the walls of Jerusalem.
Jesus foretold how evil would be DESTROYED!

The resurrection will one day be coming due to the ransom our Lord had so dearly paid!
He told his follower he would DIE (not remain alive as an 'immortal soul"), and be raised God, HIS God, on the third day.

the words for Hades and gehenna are chosen ,if it was simply to kill by fire ,the word wouldn't include the any cononation of torture.
