Good read. However, it's also possible that Methuselah died as a result of the flood, like apparently all of his children. and possibly some of his father's children. Those other children who may have been born after Methusaleh. We are told that Enoch lived another 300 years walking faithfully with God and had other children during that 300 year period after the birth of Methuselah. The Scriptures seem to clearly explain that all flesh upon the earth died except for those 8 who boarded with Noah. So, if we had the dates of death of Methusaleh's siblings, we may find that they all died in that same year.

But let me be quick to point out that this is only conjecture. All we know for a fact is that Methusaleh died in the year that the flood covered the earth.

We are talking about a biodiverse eco system. What Noah saved on the ARK was Eden. To save man you have to provide him with food to eat. Civilization did spread from the Middle East to the rest of the world. So Noah did save the world in an indirect way.
