[_ Old Earth _] Did the bible predict THIS!

Are you still on that one?

Don't worry, Jesus will come back long before we need to worry about our sun going out. Also, didn't someone yesterday give you a lesson on the types of stars and disprove your theory?

actually i did confuse, sun will be a red giant not a nova... and its diameter could or could not swallow the earth, but still be very close to kill all live, in about 4-5 billion years. And then it will shrink to a white dwarf.

Doesnt change the fact earth will be wiped out... hope jesus comes back b4 that :P

It is being destroyed by the SON that matters. Even if the sun were to let go today and wipe out the earth, your spirit would still stand before JESUS. I am much more concerned about that then simple human death.

im defitinatly with you on this one.

The suns death = earths death.?
...well in all seriousness, the understanding of long term entropy/fusion scenarios and the latter stages of a star's existence just were'nt known or studied back in Bible times, that I've ever been aware of.

So anything equating to what you're suggesting would be some rather creative speculation....

....such as the sun's advance into red giant phase causing certain temperature conditions on earth to be reached, resulting in the gassing off of all DNA matter ( a "rapture", if you will) to be further refined and "redeemed" in the heavens, yes, some will be discarded or destroyed in a form of Great Judgement or whatever......

....I mean, seriously - it beats the miraculous, unexplainable levitation-rapture thingy, and the Big Government 666 power fantasies by a good bit IMHO.

Jesus will be returning long before the sun becomes a red giant.

hmm so because it isnt on the bible i made it up? BULLSHIT

erm...well, no not hardly....scientific ideas on the lifecycles of stars/suns/solar systems have been around a good 100-150 years, so no, I would'nt say you just "made it up".

In fact you've made a rather interesting connection of ideas - one worth pondering (re-read my post :P ).

IMHO - the Pascals' wagerish thingy with Jesus coming back "long before" has about as much validity as - "I'll buy a winning lottery ticket LONG BEFORE WW3 breaks out"

I don't believe in the Rapture or Second Coming or what have you, but I have to agree that humanity most likely will not still be around, at least not on Earth, millions of years from now when the sun transforms to its red giant phase.

Hmmm...Interesting.

You believe in a literal six day creation, but you don't believe in the return of the Messiah? :-?

Whoever said I believed in a literal 6 - day creation?

Besides, even if I did, it wouldn't have been so uncommon to have only one of those beliefs, for all you know, I could be a Jew.

Care to explain why you have this link in your signature link then?

http://www.creationtheory.org

Perhaps you should actually read the link instead of just guessing what it is based on its title.

Also, just so you know, I'm a deist.

I did read your link, particularly this page....http://www.creationtheory.org/YoungEarth/

A "deist" huh? I didn't know any existed anymore. I thought the Unitarians absorbed them all. ;-)

Still seems rather strange a deist would expound Creationism 8-)

So he's a YEC because he has a link to an anti-YEC website? Somehow you seem to have confused is not with is, I think you'll find this to be logically problematic.

hmmm,I'm not sure, but God does mention that he's going to..destroy the world by fire sooo.....what you say may have some relevance, but I think the big question is what STOPS the sun from doing what you state?and, one would think that if God can roll the universe up like a scroll and burn it..one would also think he could do somthing so simple as stop one of unverse's suns from going BOOM....

and its a funny thing you should mention this....did you know the sun is shrinking about 5 feet or so....an hour or day or somthing :o and that means so much for for the earth being millons of years old
