The indwelling of the Holy Spirit within you will never leave unless you blasphemy against God's Holy Spirit, Matthew 12:31-33. Sin can cause us to lose fellowship with God just like that of Adam who tried to hide from God, but fellowship is restored when we repent as God will always forgive us when we humble ourselves before Him with a heart of repentance.

If a sin caused the spirit to forsake you, then the promise of "I will never leave or forsake you" is a lie.

when we are tempted to sin the Holy Spirit is right there inviting us to draw near to God to get His help not to sin - John 16:13 - James 4:8 - Hebrews 4:16

if we choose to NOT draw near to God we will see concretely our inability to overcome sin on our own - John 15:5

one day we will grow tired of doing things apart from Jesus and will choose to lean on Him in everything - Proverbs 3:5-6

then the adventure into God's strength ability grace and truth will begin and our lives will get better each day - Philippians 4:13 - Philippians 2:13 - Proverbs 4:18

we may slip and fall back into doing things our own way but God will help us learn to continue in Him - 1 John 1:9

in any case Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith so He will help us make it - Hebrews 12:2 - Philippians 1:6
