Bible Study Does the word BEMA refer to judges on raised platforms at the Olympic Games

I want to clarify something I have found when studying the Judgment Seat of Christ. Most, if not all, commentators state that the BEMA seat was a raised platform at the Olympic Games where the winners were give their rewards for winning a contest by Judges.

I just want to point out that there is no historical truth to that. The guy who originated this was Sale-Harrison. I got his book because I wanted to see his support for this assertion. He had no evidence to back it up. So, after checking many ancient Greek sources, I could not find one instance where it was used of the reward at the Olympic Games.

It does look like that should be the case, but I can find no evidence to support it. The KJV is just going to have to have that error in their version for now. This is why I don't use English Translations for serious Bible Study. If I did, I would never have discovered this error.

Let me add this. I hope someone one day will be able to show us a usage where BEMA is used of where the Judges sit at the Olympic Games. Anyone up for the challenge. I tried but couldn't do it.
