Hello everyone,
My name is Lyndon. I am a pastor in Northern California of a Pentecostal/Wesleyan Arminian Church. I am also a praise and worship leader, songwriter, who loves to rock out for Jesus. In some ways I am 40 going on 20, but feel like 60 some times. I am also a writer, and by proper definition an Early Church Historian. I have written a book called "Faith Without Works" which can prove to be unpopular with many; which is available on my website in E-Book form (about 70% of the book). I also have many other in depth studies on the site. The site has a search, which can make it easier to find certain topics or scriptures on the site. Some of the books are long and may be more than most care to read online. But I would encourage anyone who wants to learn about early Church times to read my Early Church and Calvinism page. It is long, but still not complete. I will have it printed once it is finished (hopefully by June). I know there are many different opinions about the early Church, even many false accusations concerning what they really taught. Those who teach differently then they did will naturally claim they trust the Bible alone and refuse to consider what they wrote. But what they wrote simply confirms the truth written in the Bible, as they had been taught by the Apostles. There is too much to discuss here, I encourage you to just take time to read thru it. You might be suprized at what is there. There are also many other very interesting things in their writings. Many are not there yet, since the book was limited to Calvinist and baptist beliefs verses the Arminian beliefs. For example, all thru early Church history it is well aknowledge by ALL the writers the heresy bagan with Simon the Sorceror you read about in Acts. His name is well known as Simon Magus, who gathered a large following, influence many others, and died by having his disciples burying him alive; in which he said he would rise from the dead on the third day. Of course he did die, but stayed in the grave. Interesting facts like this are written all thru early Church writings, and never is there disagreement. Once I finish gathering and topically sorting the many quotes I have collected over the last few years, I will make the writing available in book form. But the stories like these will not be on my site, I only use quotes to show bible doctrine on the site. There are many quotes to prove UPC (Apostolic) doctrine false, and Trinity correct.
History is only one way to prove Bible doctrine. I had written "Faith Without Works" as a scriptural approach of the argument, and have a refutation to Charles Stanleys book in the back. Dr. Malcolm Lavender, a good frien of mine, and in many ways a mentor, has written books such as "The Fallacy of the sinning Christian", "an excelent book "Greek Grammer and Syntax", and the most recent is his refutation to Dr. James White called "The Potter's Freedom to Love the World". His site is http://WWW.Crisipub.com :a highly recommended site!
Have a blessed day in Jesus
