In the United States, most Christians say that they observe Sunday, the first day of the week, at least in part, to commemorate the resurrection which they believe took place on the first day of the week. Does anyone know, in those areas of Europe that use a calendar that labels the seventh day of the week, “Sundayâ€Â, on what day they hold their weekly worship services? If they hold it on the seventh day, do they reject the first day as being a special day?

I've travelled fairly widely around Europe and I've never heard of the day of worship being anything other than Sunday.

The Jewish Sabbath is the last day of the week, as God rested from his labours on the seventh day. That's probably the reason people would give you if you asked why their holy day is the seventh.

Some calendars and diaries begin the week with Monday, others with Sunday. For business purposes, it's surely more practical to start the week on a Monday.

muslims worship on friday and the actual day of the sabbath is saturday not sunday

the rcc changed the day.

Yes I know. The Sabbath runs from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday. I've always been puzzled when Christians say the fourth commandment applies to Sunday.
