Not only do people like food it's a essential item. Why is it there is enough food to feed the entire world yet people go hungry?. I mean, food prices have increased yet farmers have been dumping there produce, I mean it's not there fault if they under a contract and with supply/demand it's not worth harvesting the crop and they can't sell it to anyone else so it just rots or gets dumped.

It just all seems a bit crooked. There so enough food to feed the world yet people are hungry, food is expensive, crops are being dumped. Do you see the problem.

If the goal of people in power was to feed the hungry or generally make other lives better, we would see different decisions.

There is no way I can blame the farmer. I mean if there crop is only going to lose them or it's not even worth harvesting and it rots or they dump it, what can they do about it. There not really in control.

If the goal of people in power was to feed the hungry or generally make other lives better, we would see different decisions.

Its just corporate greed. Its all about the profit. Its not about making other people's lives better. Its just competition but unfair competition where the big bullies have advantage and rules that favour them and push everyone else out to gain all the power and control. Open a store and next thing a big corp will open up next to you and give away there produce for free until you go bust just because they can.

Not sure how much food went rotton during lockdowns when all small healthy fruit and vegetable stores and butchers were forced to shut there doors and the entire nation was forced to only enter and purchase from a handful of big supermarkets, nothing like filling up on chocolate, crisps, and processed foods. Only essential services were allowed open in the name of health, so the local family fruit and vegetable store was forced to shut.

Its insane how regulations work and the double standards attached. Take gambling for example, a specific handful are legally allowed to rig people out there money. I mean like a slot machine. If anyone made a electronic deceive that is specifically rigged and deceives people and takes there cash and only gives back a % they would be in prison for fraud or something. I mean it is illegal for the regular person to have there own private casino.

Anyhow back to food I wonder how much fish and seafood goes to waste from commercial fish dumping, tonnes and tonnes, once again I cannot blame the commercial fisherman who has no option to dump by catch because it's not in there legal quota.

Fish dumping is illegal so what does a commercial fisher do if there quota is only for a specific species and they get by-catch they are not legally allowed?. I mean, what more is there to say. Not allowed to keep it and not allowed to dump it. Smells like a lose lose situation.

I was with my buddy and he got over quota in his net just recreational fishing, he didn't say he kept all the fish but he posted on FB how many he got and the next thing authorities are knocking on the door asking questions, someone must have been jealous and snitched, he done nothing wrong but if authorities get a complaint I guess they have to investigate, it was just a waste of time , they were all good just asked a couple questions and moved on they probably knew how ridiculous it was themselves. How they got the address and turned up without a warrant who knows, but anyhow there was no problem.

What do you do if you get for example 25 fish in a net and your only allowed 20. Throw 5 dead fish back in the ocean when it could feed people, even throwing fish carcass in the ocean is illegal. It's illegal to fillet fish and dispose of the carcass in the ocean so what's the difference from throwing a whole dead fish back in.

Throw a dead fish in the ocean it's only going to float on the surface and rot , nothings going to eat it, maybe a big sea bird if it spots it but they can do there own hunting.

Ask yourself why someone is allowed to grow there own food or catch there legal quota of fish yet not allowed to trade or sell it. I have government recognised food safety certificates yet I'm still not allowed to just freely sell or trade in the name of health and safety. Need licences and regulations and certifications for this and that.

I'm not allowed to sell a fresh fish that I'm legally allowed to have with a government recognised food safety certificate. I would be a problem to the powers and controllers who haul tonnes and sell it at the rip off price of 40 a kilo.

I used to always give away free fish to people in the community and the power trippers didn't like it. They get jelous when your taking away there profit. They trying to sell it at the rip off price of 40 a kilo and I give it away to all the locals for free. I mean it's illegal for me to sell or trade it but I can freely give it away. Cant stop me from giving people a free fish who can't afford to pay rip off prices. I mean it's the peoples fish anyhow it's a natural resource.

You have to wonder how it works. A handful own most the quota. And commercial fisherman get stufl all for there catch and by the time it hits the supermarkets for locals to purchase there own resource on there doorstep its like 40 a kilo.
