Getting that loud music time feeling

occassionaly I get this urge to shut the doors and pump up the volume on my sound system and immerse myself in my music. When I say loud I mean loud. The windows in my conservatory shake.

Not sure why I do it. Well maybe I do. I just want to lose myself for a while, withdraw myself from everything going on around me.

Some of you may say "I do that by immersing myself in God"
Does anyone ever do what I do or am I just weird.
Ok let me rephrase that, some of you may think I'm weird per-se anyway but what about pumping up the volume?

Yes, I do..
I must be weird also, lol...
I don't shut the door though...:eek2
And yes, I play the air guitar and act as I am on stage, lol...:rocking
I hope I never grow up, lol.:biggrin2

Fantastic
Maybe we could set up our own club up. We can call it the weirdo club. The main criteria for membership is as follows

Loud music to be played
The ability to be able to play an air instrument of any kind no matter how badly you play it.
Air type microphones are aloud (see what I'm doing here with the word aloud)
No ear muffs aloud
Dancing is optional but not required
We do not grow old together, we stay young together. No variation allowed on this one.

I like to pump up the volume occasionally, and as long it is not disturbing others, I don't see any problem with that. I prefer instrumentals without lyrics. Music can tell a story all on it's own, sorrow, joy, peace, battle, etc.
My love started as a child listening to Peter and Wolf performed in concert. To me music is one of the most wonderful gifts that God has given to us.

Dancing feet go with a dancing heart. :)

I love classical music, and I do love listening to it. I mellow out to it and relax with it.
If you want a lovely classical album look up La Scala by Ludovico Einaudi.

It will take you places in your mind, somehow it fulfills your sowrrow, brings you peace.

Thanks! I'm listening to 'Passaggio' right now and adding Einaudi to my favorites list. :)

It really is lovely.

My favourites are password and Julia.

Not sure if you have this one, it's Nocturn No 8 D-Flat Major Op 27 no 2 by Chopin.
I tried to learn it but it is being my piano playing capability.

I have said to my kids who are learning the piano, "The first one to play it I will give you £1,000"

Now some may think I'm mad but there is method in my madness.
I got to grade 7 piano in one year of learning. Did it 19 years ago, every day of that year I was on the piano for at least 6 hours.
Even at grade 7 I can't play this.

So the method in my madness is.

£1,000 is a lot of money for kids. It's an incentive and a focus to get to a level that can get the money. Secretly I want them to be able to play the piano because I know many people who as adults wish they could play it, also in church it can be used for worship.

Also and very selfishly if they can play this piece £1,000 will be short change and therefore when I and my wife get old they can put us in a nice old people's home.

Out of 4 kids we have, 2 really have the ability to do it. They are natural. My 14 year old Lucy is at grade six. Very small hands and skinny fingers, they can't reach an octive apart. But when she is playing the piano it's like a spider on the piano. Jack grade 7 but now gone to uni so he has stopped

Hey everyone.

Play that air instrument you used to play when you were young. We only have a guitar emoji on this site but never mind.

Bang your drums, play the guitar, sing into the microphone, sing in the shower in the bath, dance in your room.
Let yourself go, sing it out loud, don't be afraid, don't be embarrassed just go for it.
