God Is Sovereign over the Destiny of All Mankind

As a member of mankind and as one of the godly Christians, we all have the responsibility and obligation to offer up our body and heart for the accomplishment of God’s commission, because our whole being comes from God and exists because of God’s sovereignty. If our body and heart are not for God’s commission and not for the just cause of mankind, then our soul will be ashamed to face those who were martyred for God’s commission and will be even more ashamed to face God who provides us with everything.
God created this world, created this mankind, and even more founded the culture of ancient Greece and the civilization of mankind. Only God has been consoling this mankind, and only God has been caring for this mankind day and night. The development and the progress of mankind cannot do without God’s sovereignty. The history and the future of mankind cannot escape from the arrangement of God’s hand. If you are a real Christian, you will surely believe that the rise and fall of any nation and race is under God’s arrangement. Only God Godself knows what the destiny of any nation and race will be, and only God Godself is in control of what course this mankind will follow. If mankind want to have a good destiny and if a nation wants to have a good destiny, then all mankind have to fall down and worship God, and come before God to repent and confess their sins to God. Otherwise, mankind’s destiny and destination will be an inescapable disaster.
Look back to the age when Noah built the ark. Mankind were deeply corrupt, and they departed from God’s blessings, no longer had God’s care, and lost God’s promises, living in the darkness without God’s light. Then they all became extremely licentious and fell to the extent of being intolerable to the eye. Such mankind could no longer receive God’s promises and were unworthy to see God’s face and unworthy to hear God’s voice, because they abandoned God, discarded everything God bestowed to them, and forgot God’s words of instruction to them. Their heart became more and more distant from God. Subsequently, they became so fallen that they lost their sense and lost their humanity. They became more and more evil and then went toward death, falling into God’s wrath and into God’s punishment. Only Noah worshiped God and shunned evil. So he heard God’s voice and heard God’s charge to him. According to the charge of God’s word, he built an ark and took in every living creature. Then, after everything was ready, God began the work of destroying the world. At that destruction of the world, only the eight members of Noah’s family escaped the disaster and survived, because Noah worshiped Jehovah and shunned evil.
Then look at the present age. There is no more such righteous man as Noah who could worship God and shun evil. But God still treats this mankind graciously and still forgives this mankind of the final age. God is searching for men who thirst after his appearing, searching for men who can listen to his word, searching for men who do not forget his commission and offer up their body and heart for him, and searching for men who obey him and have no resistance toward him like a baby before him. If you dedicate yourself for God without being hindered by any force, then you will be one favored by God and will be one blessed by God. If you have a high position, have a high reputation, have a lot of knowledge, have a lot of property, or have the support of many people, but you still come before God to accept God’s calling and commission without being bothered by these things and do the things God asks you to do, then the things you do will be the cause which is the most meaningful in the world and the most just among mankind. If you refuse God’s calling for the sake of your position or your own aims, then everything you do will be cursed by God and even more be loathed by God. If you are a president, a scientist, a pastor, or an elder, however high your rank is, if you do your cause by your abilities and your knowledge, you will forever be a failure and forever be one having no blessings of God, because God will not accept anything you do, and he will not acknowledge that you are doing a just cause or recognize that you are working for the well-being of mankind. He will say that whatever you do, you are trying hard to push away God’s keeping for mankind by human knowledge and human power and are denying God’s blessings. He will say that you are guiding mankind to walk toward darkness, toward death, and toward the threshold of a boundless realm where mankind has no God and loses God’s blessings.

Since mankind had social science, science and knowledge have occupied mankind’s heart. Then science and knowledge become tools to rule mankind, so that mankind does not have enough space to worship God and does not have more favorable conditions to worship God, and God’s position in the heart of the whole mankind drops increasingly. The world in mankind’s heart where there is no God’s position is dark, hopeless, and empty. Subsequently, many social scientists, historians, and politicians rise up to express their views, such as the theories of social sciences, the theory of evolution of man, and so on, which are contrary to the truth that God created man, to fill man’s mind and heart. Thus, fewer and fewer people believe that God created all things, while more and more people believe the theory of evolution. More and more people treat the records of God’s work and the words of God in the Old Testament age as myths. God’s dignity and God’s greatness have become dim in people’s heart, the belief in God’s existence and God’s ruling over all things has become dim in people’s heart, and the survival and extinction of mankind and the destinies of the nations and races have become unimportant to people. All mankind are living in an empty world of eating and drinking and making merry…. Few people take the initiative to seek where God is working today and how God rules over and arranges mankind’s destination. Thus, unknowingly human civilization becomes less and less desirable to people. Many people even feel that, living in such a world, they are not as happy as those who are dead, and even people of the formerly highly-civilized nations also complain like this. For without God’s leading, even if rulers or sociologists all rack their brains to maintain human civilization, it is to no avail. No human being can fill the emptiness in man’s heart, because no human being can be man’s life, and no social views can free man from being harassed by emptiness. Science, knowledge, freedom, democracy, pleasure, and ease only bring man temporary comfort. With these things, mankind are still inevitably committing sins and complaining that the society is unjust. With these things, mankind still cannot restrain their hunger and desire to explore. Because man was created by God, mankind’s meaningless sacrifices and explorations can only bring them more and more miseries, causing them to live in constant fear, not knowing how to face mankind’s future and how to face the future way, and they even dread science, dread knowledge, and much more dread the sense of emptiness. In this world, no matter whether you are in a free country or in a country without human rights, you can in no way escape from mankind’s destiny; no matter whether you are a ruler or a ruled one, you can in no way free yourself from the desire to explore mankind’s destiny, mysteries, and destination, much less free yourself from the inexplicable sense of emptiness. These phenomena common to mankind are called by sociologists social phenomena, but no great man can come forth to solve such problems. Man is man after all. God’s place and God’s life cannot be replaced by any man. What mankind needs is not only a just society where they have enough to fill their stomach and everyone is equal and free. What they need is God’s salvation and God’s life supply for them. Only thus can their needs, their desire to explore, and the emptiness in their heart be solved. If the people of a nation or race cannot receive God’s salvation or God’s care, then this nation or race will head for decline and darkness and end up being destroyed by God.

Maybe your country is very prosperous now, but if you keep all your people away from God, this country will be less and less able to receive blessings from God, and its civilization will be more and more trampled by people. Before long, the people of this country will rise up to oppose God and curse Heaven, and unknowingly the destiny of a country will be thus ruined. God will raise up strong nations to deal with the nations cursed by God and even cause such nations to disappear from the earth. The prosperity and the survival or extinction of a nation and race hinge on whether the ruler of this nation worships God and whether he leads his people to draw near to God and worship God. But in this final age, as fewer and fewer people genuinely seek God and worship God, God shows special kindness to the nations that have Christianity as their national religion and has these nations associated as a relatively just camp in the world, while those atheistic nations and the nations that do not worship the true God become a bloc opposite to the just camp. Thus, God not only has among mankind a place where he can work, but at the same time he has nations through which to exercise just authority, so that the nations that resist God can be sanctioned and restricted. In spite of this, God still cannot have more people to worship him, because mankind has become too distant from God and has forgotten God too long. On earth there only appear nations to exercise justice and resist injustice. But this falls far short of God’s desire, because no ruler of any nation will let God rule over his people and no political party of any nation will organize his people to worship God, and God loses his rightful place in the heart of every nation, every race, every ruling party, and even every man. Although there are some just forces in the world, the ruling of those who have no place for God in their heart is very weak, and the political arena that is not blessed by God is chaotic and cannot withstand a single blow. When mankind has no blessings of God, it is as if mankind has no sun. No matter how conscientiously the rulers make contributions for their people, and no matter how many just conferences mankind hold together, they will not be able to reverse the course of the world or change the destiny of mankind. Men all think that a country where people have food and clothing and live together in harmony is a good country and is a country with a good leader. But God does not think so. He thinks that a country where no one worships God is a country he will destroy. Man’s thoughts are always far from God’s. Therefore, if the head of a country does not worship God, then the destiny of this country will be very tragic, and this country will have no destination.
God does not participate in human politics, but God controls the destiny of every nation and race, controls this world, and controls the entire universe. Mankind’s destiny is closely linked to God’s plan. No man, no nation, and no race can escape from God’s sovereignty. If men want to know mankind’s destiny, they must come before God. God will cause men who follow and worship him to prosper and cause men who resist and reject him to decline and perish.
Think back to the scene of God destroying Sodom, as recorded in the Bible. Think about how Lot’s wife became a pillar of salt. Look at how the people of Nineveh repented and confessed their sins in sackcloth and ashes. And think back to the end of the Jews two thousand years ago nailing Jesus onto the cross—the Jews were driven out of Israel and fled to other countries around the world, many of them were slaughtered, and the whole race suffered an unprecedented misery from the destruction of their nation. What had they done wrong? They nailed God onto the cross—a monstrous sin—which provoked God’s disposition. They had to pay for what they had done and bear all the consequences of what they had done. They condemned God and rejected God, so their destiny was only to be punished by God. This was the bitter fruit and the disaster that their rulers had brought upon their nation and race.
Today God has again come to the world to do his work. The first place he does his work in is the aggregate of dictatorial rulers—China—the strong bastion of atheism. With his wisdom and by his power, he has conquered a group of people. During this period, he is hunted by China’s ruling party in every possible way and undergoes all kinds of sufferings, having no place to lay his head and having no place to stay. In spite of this, he is still doing the work he wants to do: speaking and uttering his voice and spreading the gospel. God’s almightiness cannot be fathomed by anyone. In China, a nation which regards God as its enemy, God has never stopped his work but instead has gained more people to accept his work and word, because God saves every one of mankind to the utmost. We all believe that the thing God will accomplish cannot be hindered by any nation or any force, and that those who obstruct God’s work, resist God’s word, and disturb and damage God’s plan will eventually be punished by God. If a man resists God’s work, God will cast this man into hell; if a nation resists God’s work, God will destroy this nation; if a race rises up to oppose God’s work, God will make this race disappear from the earth and no longer exist. I would advise every race, every nation, and even people in every walk of life to come to listen to God’s voice, look at God’s work, and show some concern for mankind’s destiny, letting God become the most holy, most honored, and most high and only object of worship among mankind, and letting the whole mankind live in God’s blessings as Abraham’s offspring lived in Jehovah’s promises, and as Adam and Eve whom God created in the beginning lived in the Garden of Eden.
God’s work is advancing with mighty force like surging waves. No one can hold him back, and no one can stop his steps. Only those who listen to his word attentively and seek and thirst after him can follow his footsteps and receive his promises. Except for them, all will suffer overwhelming disasters and deserved punishments.
