Gospel of Christ by Jacob

I have recently read a book that I found on Amazon called Gospel of Christ, written by Jacob (only one name.?). This book is strange and powerful. It's like all four gospels rolled into one, with a few added passages I've never read before. I'm sure many would call this book heretical, but when I read it I was amazed at how the gospels I've read a hundred times became something new and interesting. I truly believe that this book could usher in a new renaissance of Christianity.
Here's a passage: 'Pilate presented Jesus alongside Barabbas to the crowds. Barabbas had committed murder during an insurrection against Rome.
Many in the crowd who considered themselves good people cried out for Jesus' death because his blasphemy was an affront to their religion, his peace was against their politics, and his love was against their sense of strength.
Pilate's wife pleaded with Pilate to have nothing to do with Jesus' punishment, knowing he was a just man.
Pilate responded, "It is out of my hands. There are laws in place. By making himself king he spoke against Caesar. I wash my hands of it."'

God's word says it all. You don't need any other's word. There is nothing new there. Why the attraction...really?

The problem with a book like this is that it truly blurs the line of what is Scriptural and what isn't.

I tried to find some quotes from the book and only was able to get this from a different forum...so, I cannot be 100% sure the following quote is accurate. However, I'm quoting it anyway, just to show my point...if the quote is inaccurate, my point will still stand:

"God became human. Jesus Christ, the Wise Teacher, the Holy Doctor, the Prince of Peace, the Son of God, the Sage, Light, came into the world and redeemed the world. Jesus Christ, God's covenant incarnate, the earthly projection of a beginningless, endless, omnipresent Being. Jesus Christ is God and is humanity, the ultimate symbol, the living sign of the two natures in human beings, the human and the divine, in synthesis. This is the way to enlightenment, to becoming a true and living being. The Incarnation shows us that the divine world coexists within each human being. This world, this life, this mind, this earth are holy and beautiful and have been redeemed."
OK, this is supposedly how the book starts and the first three sentences are OK...but then the author goes on to make some conclusions that are anything but biblical. (In the original quote the last sentences isn't bolded, but I bolded it anyway because it is as incorrect as the other two.)

The way to "enlightenment" (and I'd be tempted to chuck the whole book on the basis of that word alone) is not to "become a true and living being"...but rather to believe in the One who is the Way the Truth and the Light. The "divine world" does NOT coexist within each human mind, the human mind is actually characterized as being sinful...and the world, the earth, our mind are not holy and beautiful...however all those who believe upon Him will be redeemed.

Again, even if this is an inaccurate quotation, my point still stands...all people bring their bias and their own sometimes wholly inaccurate thoughts into what they write about the Bible.

Rather than read a book about the Gospels...just read the gospels themselves. Allow God to reveal Himself to you within His inerrant word.

I tried looking for it also, and even went to amazon, and could not find it. The person who posted this thread has only 1 post, and if you look at all the other forums this was posted on it also was posted by an individual with only 1 post. I wonder if the book in question even exists, and I also wonder what the purpose is behind someone making one post on forums about it.
