Bible Study Higher Than The Angels?

I'm confused on this because I'm in Hebrews right now and I'm trying to understand all of this but I don't really get what chapter two is saying because it sounds like it's trying to tell me that the angels are superior to Christ and I thought that the Father, Son, and the holy ghost were all equal to one another. Then again, when He was born He was fully human as well as fully God so maybe that rank sort of changed somehow. Can somebody please explain this to me?




Oh yeah and I also know that the Bible says something about when we get to Heaven that we will be higher than the angels and there's that confusion again because I would think that once we're all in Heaven we will all be equal with them.

I really think you're going to have to post passages for us to respond to these kind of queries. It's just too easy to second-guess what the author was saying.

That's just it I can't really tell what verse it is in my Bible, I just know that it's in the first chapter.
 
The Son became much greater than the angels, and God gave him a name that is much greater than theirs. Hebrews 1:4 NCV

Hebrews is saying that Lord Jesus is much higher than the angels.

Thank you and I misread that Bible quote as the important words are that we don't see Christ as higher than the angels and all I can tell you it's somewhere in (my mistake as it's the second chapter) Hebrews 2:5-9
 
However what would that mean when Jesus became a man, was He still higher than the angels since He was also a human being as well as the Son of God?

Hebrews 2:7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

Jesus was only temporarily made a little lower than the angels when God sent Him down to earth in a human body so that He would taste death for all mankind on the cross. Death was the only thing that made Jesus a little lower than the angels as angels can not die. Once God raised Him from the grave Jesus was once again higher than the angels.

Yes but after He was raised from the dead why wouldn't He still be equal with the angels?
 
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: Colossians 1:16 KJV

The angels were created by Jesus, for Jesus. All of creation was created for Jesus. Jesus is the king over all creation.

You see that's where we start to disagree. Although God and Jesus are the same in some ways,.. in other ways they are different. In Genesis 1:1 it doesn't say Jesus created the heavens and the earth, it says God meaning the Father as Jesus is the Son. I still liked your post for your verse though. Also that isn't to say that Jesus isn't God because He is, I just don't believe that He's the creator of the universe.

I think the key word here is that Jesus was with God in the beginning of creation, but that doesn't actually mean that He created anything with the exception of maybe Himself if God didn't create Him.
 
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Hebrews 1:1-2 KJV

"by whom also he made the worlds;"

Umm,.. mind explaining what that means seeing as that I have a lot of trouble trying to read KJ. :/

Okay thanks that's a lot better. So through Jesus He made the world. Maybe that means that they made it together then. :confusedIdk. :shrug

Also the angels were created for Jesus. The Father has chosen Jesus to be the king of the angels (and us).

God put all things under Christ's feet and gave him to the church as supreme Lord over all things. Ephesians 1:22 GNT

All things.
