Because everyone who disagrees with us is wrong. So when we interpret the scriptures or respond to posts how do we know we are right?
perfect answer for Classik.Because everyone who disagrees with us is wrong.
Do you mean in terms of translation?perfect answer for Classik.
Over the years something i have noticed is Scripture does not read exactly as it did before. Having heard Scripture all my life hearing it as a child is different then as a old woman..
Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
It is always the predictable track, to find ourselves "in the right." And we constantly seek to be only right, because we seek to avoid Gods Judgments on that ill/dire side of the ledgers of scripture. So when we interpret the scriptures or respond to posts how do we know we are right?
Maybe it's not our decision at all.
Here's Classik in the end.
Wow, we can agree on something.I doubt any of us want "ourselves" as we currently perceive ourselves, for eternity. I certainly DON'T. Not interested in my 'self' whatsoever, for eternity?
Forget that! I can barely tolerate my "self" in the here and now.
I'd wipe that smile off yer face so fast...Wow, we can agree on something.
I can barely tolerate you either.
Forget that! I can barely tolerate my "self" in the here and now.
If I recall correctly "I" died. Fairly thrilled to death with my replacement.Do you like yourself? Weird question I know but just interested what you think about yourself.
Yes, I agree. If I recall correctly "I" died. Fairly thrilled to death with my replacement.

Yes, I agree.
I know the "old" me is horrible and ugly, but the "new" me is tolerable.
I am quite anxiously awaiting a "full transfer." If the "dead me" could speed it along, I would, but of course that is not in my power, seeing that I have none.Yes, I agree.
I know the "old" me is horrible and ugly, but the "new" me is tolerable.
When we interpret Scripture, we need to realize that we should be speaking in degrees of certainty. There are some things that are simple and clear, and we can be quite certain we are right. But there are a lot of things in Scripture that aren't as clear and some that really are not clear at all. With those such things we shouldn't be as certain, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't have an opinion as to what we think they mean. Our opinion though, needs to be well informed, based on our personal study of the Scripture, which should include various theologians, teachers, commentaries, and lexicons. So when we interpret the scriptures or respond to posts how do we know we are right?

One of of challenges or claims or assertions is that the Spirit speaks through us (and in most cases or in some cases): and we are always right. Problem is, some have been deceived into believing some so-called "thus saith the Lord" - when He has not said.
Brother Paul has it right when he always said: Not the Lord, but I; or, not I but the Lord.
