I'm pretty regular. I drink lots of water and eat fiber. So I'll participate....I thought I would ask my question here where regular people can participate.

It seems neither you nor I decide what is science, and what is not.You could've left your post because your question covers more than just science. Picking and choosing what to believe and what not to believe in the bible is a huge problem. We either believe the bible is the Word of God or we don't. We can't approach the scriptures with the mindset that some are true while others are not. That's not how it works.
But that's just me.
.
Hebrew isn't exactly dead and we do have Jews today that do believe for the most part that beresherith is what it is says it is. they do retranslate their bible from older versions to modern Hebrew, yet modern Hebrew isn't as much as leap from ancient Masoretic texts. the later is where we get our ot. we seldom use the greek lxx for any translationBut is it really a matter of Christians not believing certain parts that causes the conflicts? Or is it more often a matter of people simply having different interpretations of what are admittedly writings in long dead languages to ancient cultures that we don't always understand today?
You know more about that than I do, that's for sure. But my understanding was that even the Hebrew as it was spoken when scripture like Genesis was written is much different than what is spoken today. I think that's what you're saying too, right? Sort of like an English speaker today trying to understand old English?Hebrew isn't exactly dead and we do have Jews today that do believe for the most part that beresherith is what it is says it is. they do retranslate their bible from older versions to modern Hebrew, yet modern Hebrew isn't as much as leap from ancient Masoretic texts. the later is where we get our ot. we seldom use the greek lxx for any translation
I can easily read Old English. I have read Thomas Paine's Common Sense in the English of his day. You are thinking of proto-Hebrew to Hebrew. The problem with that is what Gary is saying when you look at the words in that manner, doubts happen. Somehow we don't really know if Jesus really was the son of a virgin. as well translations. and other such things. the idea of evolution isn't what bothers me its the twisting and ingnoring of plain commands of shabat and other feasts that were timed on the literaly read per genesis 1 movements of the sun and moon. Hebrew religious days start at sundown, not at 12 am. remember this in the book of acts and gospel? You know more about that than I do, that's for sure.
