[_ Old Earth _] I Didn't Know That

She didn't actually do it by hand. The lady calculated the trajectory of Apollo moon missions, using a Pickett slide rule. Still, an awesome feat, with nothing but a slipstick.

Picketts were standard issue for NASA astronauts. Each moon mission carried one on board, just in case.
 
John Glenn wanted her to calculate his missions above anybody else. Well things have got better I mean Charles Bolden, a person of color is the head of NASA now.
 
Anyone here still know how to use a slide rule?

Every now and then, I take one to school and astonish kids by showing that I can find powers and roots faster on a slide rule than they can on a calculator.

I haven't in years but then again .I did memorize some of the common powers and roots.

We had them in school and I still don't know how to use one.
 
They make one for figuring the volume of concrete. John could figure it in his head faster the the guys could figure out how to use the 'slid rule"
 
Let me ask you guy's something, as Christians are we supposed to be exploring outer space, or are we to not go pass the Exosphere ? There is not to much man can do in outer space, our human bodies was not designed for it. But yet I am a space program and shuttle fan. But does God want us out there, the Bible says nothing about us going out there.

Probably can't anymore, but one went with me when I went off to the university.

It is God's Space Didn't He create this for us.. Really? if God does not want man 'out there' man wont be out there..

A few years back some one said we didn't belong out in the ocean we dont have gills
