Congratulations on your cord cutting savings! It's crazy how much it costs for TV, most of which is horrible programming, Internet, and phone.

Yes.don't you have to use internet to reach netflix, you tube. or sling?
Where I live there are two choices; comcast and DTC phone company.
internet is 85 or 95
bundle with tv they each add 20
y'all have free tv? sure different over hereYes.
I have adsl incl with my phone bill...
About $40. Per month, but I'd have to pay that anyway so I dont consider it a "TV" expense.
Here in Italy we also have digital tv. It has a lot of stations and is free.
If I were raising kids I wouldnt have it in my home.
We use it to watch Discovery, Focus, Marco Polo, and the such.
I dont watch TV much, I'd rather be here.
My husband watches it a lot lately because of his condition.

Yes! We do pay a TV tax that's about $140. per year.
Digital TV which includes the Rai channels and all the basic channels PLUS more than 100 other channels, including news, is free.
What do you mean by "public cable TV"? I have never heard of such a thing. I wonder if it's regional. And $100/month is the basic price for cable or sat in my experience. Add in additional HD programming, an extra box or two for other tv's, and other options, and it's easy to be much higher. That's how Directv escalated us to $150.Interesting. Public cable tv is $140 per year, and American private company cable (monopoly granted) tv is closer to $100 per month.
Why isn't public tv cable enough?Interesting. Public cable tv is $140 per year, and American private company cable (monopoly granted) tv is closer to $100 per month.

You MEAN...We don't have it in the USA. Some European countries have it. Its much cheaper than the US system of granting monopolies to private companies.
You MEAN...
Europe did something RIGHT???!!!
:shock
You are right Michael. I recently passed out and spent 3 days in the hospital. i wore a heart monitor and had blood pressure and blood sugar checked 3 time a day for 3 days. I was told they could not find anything that caused meThe European cable system is better for the majority, as its more affordable for them. The US system is better for the rich, as they get additional channels. The rich have resources to pay premium prices for cable.
Medicine is the same. The European system is better for the majority, as national health care improves longevity for the majority. The US system is better for the rich, as they get premium care not available with national health care. Thus there is a 20 year difference in US longevity between the rich and poor.
State sponsored monopolies can't be considered free market.govt taxes used to fund building it.Interesting. Public cable tv is $140 per year, and American private company cable (monopoly granted) tv is closer to $100 per month.
Cities own Internet ,telephone ,water aND electric grids. What do you mean by "public cable TV"? I have never heard of such a thing. I wonder if it's regional. I'm familiar with this in my state ,until the cell phone and internet came along ,there was no choice of cable ,phone providers.bell south only long distance was basically a middle man paying att to give you what you could get from att directly .even on Internet its ,dish ,and or comcast, att.these two later use two different lines and only they can see you their type of lines.ie fiber optic is for att only and cable. Comcast. Some cities do, yes. Many others use the regulated monopoly system.
Nor is electric ,water grids ,telephone grids.I'm sure some city offers cell phone service. No, of course not. Cable is not a free market in the USA.
