Hmm, most folk, if their honest, are guilty, guilty, guilty! If you feel you're not, BRAVO!
For as long as I worked and could generate more funding than my expenses I did my best not to be tied to any event that it might glorify YHWH.Nope, it's true. I am being one hundred percent honest here. I help others because it makes me feel good to make them feel good. Plain and simple. I don't have any other reasons for doing it.

Sorry about not being clear enough.Hey Bill! It's really good to see you again since I don't see that much of you anymore. Could you please rephrase what you're trying to say though? Sorry, but I'm a bit confused.
Sorry about not being clear enough.
Many, claiming Yashuah for their own go about telling everyone, in their group, that they did this or they did that for the Pastor, the Church or for this or that member. In the Sermon on the Mount Yashuah said in Matt. 6:3 New American Standard Bible
"But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
I encourage others to learn the joy of Glorifying our Elohim through His inspired giving but inside the Church, my Close Christian Church Family, I never give any examples that can be tied back to me, keeping the Right Hand, the other Members, from knowing what the Left Hand, me and mine, from knowing what we have done or what are doing.
Most of the membership roll will never know the joy of placing a large print Hymnal on the Music Leader's Stand and a thousand dollars worth of new Hymnals in the Pew Backs of a small but growing Church nor will they know the joy of burning a weeks pay on a tred mill for a fourteen year old diabetic whose family could not amass that much money in six moths.
Not knowing these sort of givings of gifts, they also, will never know the Blessings of YHWH because they have been Good Stewards.
I hope this clears up the issue for you.
You are free to argue with YHWH if you choose, He gives you the right to be wrong and my only task is to point out the direction and leave the work to our Elohim.Sort of. You're saying that it isn't a good idea to tell people things like how you give back to your community? I'm sorry but if that's the case then I highly and with all due respect disagree with you. Talking about it and bragging about it are two entirely different things. The only reason I talk about it is because I am hoping to be an inspiration for others to do the same.
Never be a giver because someone has told you you have to, but give charity by the compassion of your heart that you have for others. Never be proud or boastful to others of your giving, but with a humbled heart never let it be known.
Matthew 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
I never told people that they have to give onto others, I just try to set a good example because Christmas has become so commercial in today's day and age. If people don't know that there are still people out there who have the true meaning of Christmas in their hearts, how are they expected to go out and do the same? Although I must admit, I see both sides of this argument. And yes of course th1b.taylor and for_his_glory we are still friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. Nothing is ever going to change that.
That wasn't directed at you. These are just my principles on giving any day of the year and what Matthew 6:2 instructs.
That's fine. Read the post above you though, Not_Now.Soon had some very interesting points as well. :yes
Thanks HeIsRisen. I guess one point I meant to say, (but it might have gotten lost in my ramble, or just not said), is that some times we need to just ignore the reasons even if they are justified in one way or another, and instead obey what Jesus said, and what the bible says. Not that we should not seek solutions, but to trust God enough to follow Him on His instructions.

But I am not talking about giving to the church or at Christmas, but to those who need our help through out the year. If one is going to give to help another than give your best gift to them as no one else has to know you gave anything. It's God that blesses a cheerful giver and I do not need to tell others to gain any kind of recognition as what I do I do unto Christ as in His continued works Matthew 25:31-41.
No, not ever. The Word of God, in spite of the errant teaching on the hiding Modern day New Testament Teachers and these, also Heretical, New Covenant Teachers, has never been a book filled with suggestions, YHWH, please touch their hearts and guide them, gently, but firmly back into the truth You've left for us.Thanks HeIsRisen.
