I have a suggestion

When someone replies with Scripture that is important. But sometimes if that reply is only Scripture you do not know what the person is trying to say in regards to the thread.

For instance:
Post a reply to what your feelings are as a reply and then post Scripture to go with that reply that you have made.
Otherwise it is confusing. What do you think?

Some times it is and sometimes it isn't...
I have been blasted for answering with scripture only .
I have been blasted for 'adding ' my thoughts... to the scripture posted...
If one doesn't 'get it' they can always ask...

...do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. (Matt. 10:19 ESV)

Sometimes Scripture can say it all but sometimes it leaves me wondering what the person is trying to say.Why does a person reply with Scripture only?

Often because they have decided that no one is allowed to see scripture any way other than how they, themselves, do.

Our preacher made a statement from the pulpit Sunday, that the Bible can be made to say just about anything the speaker wants it to say. And we see that all the time right here on this forum.

Sometimes when responding with scripture it depends on what forum it is in. If I am allowed in a forum to put only a portion of the scripture in another color I do that to point out what it is that I see as important in that scripture.
Sometimes I use only scripture because I don't want to influence anyone by what I believe it says but only to read the scripture carefully for themselves.

Yes,but that is not what God wants. If we do not take the Bible literally how is anyone to understand it?If a person wants to take Scripture and give it their own meaning that is a slap in the face to God.Those are His precious words to us.I don't think it is a wise thing to do to take Scripture and spiritualize it.

As I bring up many times when this is said............. Luke 14:26. God gave us a brain to use, not just eyes to read and parrot written words.

"Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather." (Matthew 24:28 NASB)

There. Now you don't have to wonder ever again.

You just gave a verse that is self explanatory as to what you were saying but sometimes a person posts Scripture only for their answer which leaves me :confused.Maybe that is a passive way of answering a reply?

Bible class........

Brother Smith, will you read verse #1?
Brother Smith reads it.

Brother Jones, will you tell us what that means?
Brother Jones: "Just what it says!"

The whole class: "Amen!"

Brother Brown, will you read verse #2?

Pardon me, but that verse is, in no way, self explanatory. And, I'm pretty sure that is exactly why he posted it.
