I haven't had a whole lot of peace lately...

Please pray for my husband and his illness and that he gets better. It's been pretty discouraging. We had COVID back this past December and we all fought it off. My husband and I with lasting after effects. It seems that we got COVID or perhaps the variant again this past early September. The kids and I have fought it off rather well, but my husband is struggling. He was sent to the ER by his doctor because his heart rate was high upon rest and he went, but she's still sending him to a cardiologist. They didn't catch anything significant in the ER and said he looks free of COVID and he could return back to work. He looked better the day before the E.R. and the day after...until we went out to eat something and I think they cross-contaminated with something he's allergic to. He broke out in hives and then he's been really sick since. He's like not....winning...his fever shot up to 104 on Sunday night so he wasn't able to go back to work. The nurse line told him to go to the hospital, but he took some NSAIDs and went to bed because he was just too tired and it's like 3 a.m. the only ride he'd get would be an ambulance so he figured it could wait until morning. It has been peaking at 104 until he takes something to bring it down. They aren't paying him this week and the next week is a holiday break that he probably won't get paid for, either...gonna be tight for a bit. It's already been a month out of work for him. He's afraid he's going to lose his job because of COVID....again. Not sure what we'll do, but I'm sure God will provide somehow if that ends up the case.

He has also been passing out and we don't know why. This has been going on for a while now, but has been worse with COVID/variant/whatever it is. Doctors have no idea why he's fainting and are close to suspending his license for a while. At that point, I'm not sure what I'd do...I can't even drive because of my medical issues...not sure how we'd get anywhere without asking for a ride :sad His doctor has been trying to keep him out of the hospital because his immune system isn't all that great and he has been having appointments every week, but he's going to have to go to the big city to see a cardiologist...great, another specialist on top of me having to to go to the big city to see my specialist. -sigh-

I'm so behind in chores, so overwhelmed and frustrated with taking care of everyone. I wish I could escape it for a little while, but I can't. I'm worried sick about him so I stay up a little later than I should taking care of him and then I'm uber tired and then dealing with the kids that keep asking if daddy is going to die. I feel I can't even do it most days, but I do what I can...almost just broke down today. I hope he gets better soon so things can feel normal again.

Prayers for peace, healing, and answers.

Sorry to hear about your struggle. You fought of covid that's great, but what you are going through now I'm sure is very difficult. I pray for you, your husband to recover soon and for your whole family. May the Lord be with you in this difficult time. In Jesus name, Amen

Some improvements as far as my husband goes, but now me and the kids have hand, foot, and mouth. Oh, the joy :nonono

I am so sorry to hear this. This is what my son has right now. It has been rampant at the preschool and this is the second time he has got it. I am so sorry to hear all you have been going through and will remember you in prayer for healing of your husband and strength for you and your kids. I have a four year old and one year old and can't imagine how hard that is right now. Bless you, sister.

Father God, we lift up Luminous_Rose and her family and ask for a complete deliverance of all these attacks on their faith. We ask for total healing in their bodies and the financial help they need as you supply their needs. Comfort them, put a hedge of protection around them Lord. We ask this in the name of Jesus that the enemy be gone in the name of Jesus, amen.

I guess it's kind of going around everywhere right now.

There was a mom on a local group online that was complaining that there was a hand, foot, and mouth disease outbreak in the daycare she sent her child, too, and it seems that isn't the only one. I'm thinking we got it when I took the girls out for an event at the park to get them out and doing something fun. I am so frustrated with my stuffed up sinuses and the feeling like my lips just keep getting hot and blistering...not sure if I ever had this as a kid or not. Hopefully we will all kick it quickly!

So....
Update time....

The kid's and I seemed better for a while and now we seem a bit sick again. So perhaps we haven't fully kicked it all yet. Now we're concerned that it wasn't hand, foot, and mouth - but mono.

My husband has a heart monitor for 1 more week. He hasn't been having near as many blackouts, but perhaps it's not his heart. I guess the results we'll see in December unless they feel they gotta call earlier.

He had a doctor's appointment on Friday...after being told he wasn't contagious and clear and everything...he got some more blood test results back. He has Epstein Barr Virus...but it's not the basic mono/kissing disease form that most people kick. They say even when you kick it, it stays dormant in your body. The problem is...my husband has a more severe form with capsid, they say. It's a tougher EBV infection to kill. I've been looking up that there's studies that say there's chronic EBV and then there's chronic active EBV. His doctor on Friday didn't tell him much, she said, "I don't know much about this...it's chronic....it's active....I'm sending you to an infectious disease specialist." That bothers me....a lot....

Every...single...study I'm seeing says this:

-"Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is the only cure, without which patients with CAEBV die within several years. A severe hypercytokinemia and hemophagocytic syndrome, which may occur suddenly, often results in a fatal clinical course.

-However, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation constitutes a substantial risk to recipient patients. Therefore, transplantation is indicated is indicated only for patients with a poor prognosis.

-CAEBV is a high-mortality and high-morbidity disease.

-A study with 82 patients with CAEBV were analyzed. Of these 82 patients, 47 were alive after 8 months to 18 years of observation, and 35 had already died between 5-12 years.

-Treatment regimens for CAEBV have not yet been established.

I have a feeling the doctor didn't want to give him terrible news or not do so if she couldn't confirm 100%. He's set up to see the epidemiologist and also an endocrinologist and keep up with the cardiologist and all of these specialists, like mine, are almost 2 hours away....he's not even supposed to be driving far and I don't have a driver's license...I don't know what to do. I don't want to lose my husband 😭 I guess at this point, just pray that it's not chronic active and that he can kick it....it's been rough. I don't know what to say to him. He's just been crabby because he's been sick over a month already and can't really work. He has resigned from his teaching job and now he got a different job that he was supposed to start Monday that's sitting at a desk all day, but because he was upgraded from, "Definitely not contagious," to, "You are highly contagious," he may be out of a good job opportunity....-sigh- I'm thinking I might have to be the one to go back to work....I don't know anymore...
