Is Faith Voice Activated?

Mark 11:23
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.../

I assume we all already know that this verse is not telling us to go throw Pikes Peak into the ocean off the coast of Cali, lol but rather to speak to our problems, right?

Ok, that said, this one verse uses the word say, three times.
Whosoever shall say...
Believe what he says...
Shall have what he said...

This verse is telling us to speak to our problems. Even our mountainous problems (big ones). And have faith and believe it. will have what he said. This is huge. It doesn't say to pray to God to heal me or my buddy. It says speak to the problem. That makes sense, we were given all authority to cast out spirits, cleanse the lepers, heal the sick, raise the dead, right? Yes. But we have to speak it, in faith. It seems as if Faith is voice activated, yes?

So many Brothers & Sisters are probably praying wrong. Myself included, I did that this morning! Scripture is telling us to...speak to the problem about God (in Jesus name!), not speak to God about the problem.

seems as if Faith

No, you have illustrated the saying a verse without a context is a pretex for error.

Had you read the next verse it says what ever you ask for in prayer, believe.

It is about having faith that God will answer your prayers.

I think you are right man! It's kinda like a chain reaction that happens all at once.

John 14:14 "You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."

Luke 10:19-20 "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

The chain reaction is Jesus's authority to overcome a situation. Like him speaking to the wind and waves. Luke 8:24-25

Moving hearts aren't as easy as mountains...
And I happen to like where the mountains currently are located. It would cause some huge earthquakes if they were moved...so leave those mountains alone.

Instead work on those stubborn hearts being moved. That would be more beneficial.

How could someone pray wrong?
Prayer is just conversation with God.
There's no set formula....
Sometimes it doesn't even require words.

Romans 8.26
26In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;

Vocalizing helps to draw a line between simply desiring something in the privacy of your mind to actually seeking God for it.

And it helps keep you from falling a sleep, and your mind from wandering while you're praying. And you'll find that your prayers will become more impassioned.

This cannot be denied.

Also, if I'm having trouble concentrating I just repeat
the Our Father over and over.

Don't scold me....
this does happen at times.

Actually a study of the recorded prayers in scripture isn't a bad study at all.

First you have to go about through scripture to collect them all.
Then review them.
(Paul has some great ones)

And see how they are similar and dissimilar.
What was happening surrounding the cause for the prayers?
All that kind of thing.

King Hezekiah's prayer is my fav.

If one of you (or a collection of you) would collect, build, and write a study on them we could put it all together in a cohesive form and publish it in the Online Classes section of this forum.

I will say that other than spelling and grammar the only other editing focus will be that this will need to be non-denominational. We have a multitude of denominations here...and will be speaking to a whopping huge group of people.
It can become a very effective resource in reaching out to the world.

Don't act like y'all don't know enough... because I know better. But I think that this would be a great community project.

Great idea!
I've never done such a study and it sounds very interesting.

The prayers in the bible SHOULD BE non-denominational naturally.
All denominations, that I'm aware of, use the same bible.
