Is It Right...??

Well, now, this is a very thought-provoking question. I'm sort of struggling with a similar issue myself. If we personally do the healing, then it's a kind of psychic healing, and doesn't that mean it's an occult practice to be shunned? Does it make a difference if you do these things in His name?

Very curious to see what people think about this.

Even if we take our own initiative to lay hands on the sick, it is still in Jesus's name. We would never try to do it of our own power because we have none. But now that you mention it, I have heard that in the last days that the enemy will be performing healings and deceive many, so you do make a valid point. I would think that anything not done in the Lord's name would be occultish.

I think the eleven ( not counting Judas Iscariot) followers that became Apostles had roles that are not everyone's. I question that we all are empowered to go around healing people.

You make a good point. I have heard a good case for both yes and no of that question so am undecided myself. One view says the gifts of the Holy Spirit are all of the gifts for all believers, and the other view quotes the scripture, not all are called to be teachers, ministers and so forth and that makes sense too.

As far as asking for healings
No...not really
But we do it anyway.

We can't tell God what to do. We don't order Him around.
We can ask, we can plead...but that's no guarantee that God will do as we ask. We don't know what God's plan for the future is.

But we can ask for guidance and wisdom and support.

That's where I am on this. pray about it for guidance. Just the other day, I was listening to a Pastors message on youtube and he was recounting a service and a healing line formed...and he said that a lady had a problem (I forget what) and he said he prayed for the Lord to heal the lady...and the Lord answered him immediately and said, You do it, I have given you authority to do this so stand in authority and do it...

So he did and she was healed. That made me go wow...lol.

2Cor.12:7-10
There was given to Paul a thorn in the flesh..
For this thing I besought the LORD thrice, that it might depart from me.
And He said, My grace is sufficient for thee, for My strength is made perfect in weakness..
For when I am weak, then am I strong.
Amen

I sort of understand this...I have prayed to the Lord to be healed many times and have received healing of one kind one time. The Lord reset my dislocated hip one night as I slept, as I asked him to do before going to sleep. I woke in the night with a burning sensation in my hip. It got so hot that...I cried out in pain and said something that I should not have. Then the heat went away and I went back to sleep.

In the morning I was thinking about what happened and I remembered hearing quite a few different people who have been healed say that they they felt a heat sensation as they were being healed. So I checked my hip, and it was not dislocated any more. It was still sore, but I realized that when a joint is reset it will be sore for a day or two. So if the soreness goes away in a day or so, I have my confirmation. It did get better and go away.

But!! I have been epileptic for most of my life, and prayed and prayed for to be healed of that...not yet! I have bad back damage from a traffic accident on the highway...I have prayed and prayed to be healed of that and so far have not been...so what am I to think except these things are my personal thorn in my flesh...? I guess so.

Amen as God's grace is enough.

Well I've been praying for the Lord to heal me health/sinus wise and physically wise as well as healing my heart from all of my doubts and get me closer to Him and it's been working so,.. if it wasn't right I don't think that God would be answering my prayers with a yes. :)
