Well, now, this is a very thought-provoking question. I'm sort of struggling with a similar issue myself. If we personally do the healing, then it's a kind of psychic healing, and doesn't that mean it's an occult practice to be shunned? Does it make a difference if you do these things in His name?
Very curious to see what people think about this.
Even if we take our own initiative to lay hands on the sick, it is still in Jesus's name. We would never try to do it of our own power because we have none. But now that you mention it, I have heard that in the last days that the enemy will be performing healings and deceive many, so you do make a valid point. I would think that anything not done in the Lord's name would be occultish.
