Japanese train goes 300 miles per hour

I don't think I would ride it.Can you imagine what would happen if it derailed?

well the cape is rumoured to be working on space travel to where on launches in a rocket and lands in Australia in few hours.this is the intent of the civilian space program. feaseable , yes. risky for now until more safety is to be reasearched. its a long drop from sub orbital positions

Where do people want to travel?Mars?

Why not? Commercial airliners travel at twice that speed. And if something does go wrong, at least it's already on the ground. Emergency landings are inherently far more dangerous than emergency stops.

if the rails are up to and that would have to be and well derail any low speed trains and see what that does. derail a 300mph train and well they wont have you to bury.

Not saying there isn't a danger, just putting it into perspective. Some people were averse to Japan's current bullet trains (that travel about half that speed). I've ridden in those many times. The only difference is speed.

im against any high speed train being paid for by grant or taxes. if they think it will be that used then the let investors take the risk and loss if need be.

Japan is offering to pay for it if it happens here (in the U.S.). They're treating us to the tune of several billion dollars, in a novel move to showcase to other nations their ability to export the maglev technology.

again, right way, and also safety of traffic flow and the uses of it that affects towns will be paid for by them too?

maintance? public owned or private owned? if public, no thanks.

Jason, you are covering more area than a sawed-off 12 gauge. Fine, no free train ride for you.

oh and that old relic was the reason I liked trains for years. its moved now and a bit different. I have been inside it as its a museum. but the train tracks there are 130 years old in that image by now. it was dual track when I was kid and now its single track. my town is split by that.

I also work near tracks. so when those come by at those speeds. I will have to be in consideration amongst many things. ie where to put the utilities and prevent walkers from walking the track and dying. noise protection. that is why I said whom will pay for that? it will cost my town and county to cover 30 miles collectively from each town on it a about 40 million dollars. do the math on that when we have only 130 k people here and we wont get a stop from our aaf. we are too small to be a bother to the aaf. with this train of yours it will be even less important. that train we have now can be heard from the beach and felt. I have felt the train while walking and I was on the river side of it. more then two miles from it. it wasn't much but I was surprised that I could feel it.
