Jobs during High School

i want to get a nonofficial job when i'm in high school, so i could pay for college.

If it can be avoided, by all counts, do so. Many kids can handle small/very part time jobs though.

Not everyone is blessed though, I've known many kids in high-school who had to work full-time jobs.

I'm going to have to get a job this summer just so I can pay for car insurance. But I don't know if I could handle it during the school year though. I think I'll enjoy it though during the summer just because it'll cut down on the boredom.

i need a job badly. lol.. there are so many field trips i cant go on because my parents wont lend me any money to go... I must have applied at Wegmans 3 times, McDonnalds 2 times, and im gonna be applying at Bargain Outlet sometime soon.. IM DESPERATE!

well...I dont really need a job, but a guy I know in my church started up his own restaurant so I decided to get a job there. I am definitely blessed to be working for a christian owner. I wash dishes for minimum wage, it has definitely been a humbling experience so I have enjoyed it. I used to think that I would never work in food, much less dishes, because I have always have good grades and figured I would get a really good job. But I have realized that I need to remain humble. I am going to be getting a job that pays a few bucks more very soon though so I am lookin forward to that. I am not leaving my job at the restaurant though, I think I am going to do dishes like one night a week or something just to keep myself humble :)

During this spring break I'm working with a lady at my church that runs a day care out of her home. I am looking forward to it, because I've been a babysitter for 5 years and I have some.. erm... difficult  kids to watch in the past. I could also use the money, because my school band is going on a trip to Disneyland in May, and my parents aren't giving me any spending money as they are dishing out the $955 for me to go.

I don't have a job but it's probably best that I don't, being in my senior years of high school now. Many of my friends can take on school and a job but I'm afriad, I just wouldn't be able to do it. I get run down and sick very easily and miss out on more than enough school as it is. I just wouldn't be able to take it.

I need a job though. I want to earn my *own* money so I can give my *own* money. I don't want to give my parents money (even when I earn it from them or use it instead of something else I was going to buy) into offering or to Operation 58, (something we're doing at church). I don't feel like it's costing ME enough and because of that, I feel guilty so often because of it. :sad I need to earn my own money. :crying:

Next year I'll be in yr 12. I'm thinking about doing it over 2 years so that I won't get run down as much because it'll be spread out. I'll get a job over the 2 years it takes me to do yr 12 so I'll be earning for college after, and earning my own money for important things. ^_^

I think jobs are fine at school as long as you're keeping on top of school work and still have time for other important things. You'd have to be careful though. Money can change people horribly. That's one reason I'd be nervous to get a job. I've seen what it does to people around ,e. :crying:

Well, I just happen to be doing an odd job now, but I'll be looking for a job over the summer. I don't intend to be there al the time. I don't really need money, it will just be a convenience. But I really think that having a job will significant increase how much I can give to my church.
