Is the law of attraction satanic?
It's a "worldly instrument." And an arena I'm intricately familiar with. By the time I was 20 I was diligently studying the "ways of the world" in order to "make my fortune." I was involved with "The Success Institute" and read every book I could lay my hands on. Principles espoused by W. Clement Stone, Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightengale, etc. Read Robert Ringer's book, "Winning Through Intimidation" the day it hit the street. Heard Og Mandino speak at a live event (he was brilliant), etc. When Tony Robbins came on the scene I devoured everything he presented.
Over time I honed myself to be a brilliant and achieved "closer." A term used in the sales field for people who know how to manipulate others decisions in order to sell them things, masterfully. My personal achievement list is quite lengthy and was so because of the principles espoused by "earlier forms" of the "law(s) of attraction." But all of these I consider "business principles." It has little to do with scripture. Over time I put these things aside, and just focused on "doing right by people" as a lifestyle regardless of the moolah. Money took a back seat. Way back. I saw the deception that came with success, and the greed, waste, wantoness. It revolted me, to observe it. I saw it ruin people inside. Fortunately avoided all the landmines in that direction. My faith allowed me to "see it coming."
But over time this morphed into something else. Whereas early forms of the law of attraction would "rightfully" posture that in order to believe in what you are doing, you must also believe it's "right" and "good hearted" toward others, later forms use this to "attract love" from others unto themselves. And that maybe is a different ballgame.
I do very much believe and live Jesus' dictates to love neighbors. Very much so. But this is NOT done for self serving interests. It's the opposite, the role of a subservient, to extend such as we can. To "reflect" love from God in Christ to others, not expecting any reward for ourselves. It is not that we love God, but that He loves us. And this, we reflect, not of ourselves.
The law of attraction is self centered, self vested, self interested. Probably the opposite of what we might observe from scriptures.
The Perfect Love of God in Christ got
a severe reaction from the world of darkness which resulted in the death of His flesh. When we have His Kind of Love,
this we will also know. And rather than run from it, pour on even more, to provoke that darkness, to REPEL it, to expose it.
In this way, it is believers themselves who are quested with "destroying the world" of darkness. It's not a pretty place. But it is our place in this wicked world. When God Commanded the Light to shine from the darkness, it was not just a cosmological event, but also a Spiritual Event.
Genesis 22:17
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed
as the
stars of the
heaven, and
as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and
thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
This is a very deep matter, of our own gate, our own mouth, our own darkness, our own inherent enemies. It's a hard thing to come to understand. Far more interesting than the pettiness that the world puts out. They do not understand the seat and the gate they are sitting in.
Philippians 2:15
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke,
in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
The term "in the midst" is deployed as an exact phrase over 240 times in the KJV Bible. It is a long and interesting study, filled with the more precious things of God in Christ, to be gleaned and harvested to those therein engaged.
